For you SX haters!!!

At the risk of being overly brief in my response, I say:

OK!
Well, first off. I don't veiw what you've said as any kind of an attack on me personaly. ;) I've tried to keep my replies somewhat lighthearted with smiles winks etc, with some amount of seriousness as well. Some of the language used I'm sure was a bit irritating to more than just me.

So that said. I don't take it TOO personaly , just so ya know. ;)

O.k, I'll give you credit for the positive stuff you've said, but honestly, the other stuff kind of outweighs that.. Kind of like if you said... Hey lady, that's a nice dress your wearing.. too bad it makes you look so fat ;) SEE how that works. :D I'm sure miss nice dress wouldn't be thinking.. well at least he liked my dress. :)

Now on to the most important part. Here's the actual O.P.

Now, according to some , I might be "tone deaf" but I CAN read! LOL!! :)

My translation of this is..

Hey all you people who hate SX threads... Here's another SX thread for you all to b#tch about... Which SX should I buy the black 5'er or the quilted one? :)

NOT

Hey everyone who hates SX basses. Vent here.

I believe the thread title was sarcasm. Looks like a bunch of poeple missed that. ;)

I got it, and I'm sure others did too.

Like I said earlier, I'm sure your a stand up guy. And you have every right to say what you'd like, but I also have a right to reply, rebut and refute as well.

None of this is personal on my end. Again, just sharing my personal experiences. :)

So we need to stop having SX threads to accommodate your political Axe to grind?

That seems a bit absurd, don't you think?

Twisting my words to suit your agenda seems absurd to me. I could care less what you or TB does. I'm just stating my opinion and spending my $$$$ accordingly.

It wouldn't make sense to you to have all the daily SX Q and A's put in on location?? Probably not..........

Actually, I see a lot of new players, and people new to TB posting in a lot of the SX threads looking for advice and guidance, along with those of us who are more experienced and are into modding. etc.

These threads are a good place for the newer players/poster to gain some knowledge and insight from some of the more ... ummm shall we say... "seasoned" players here.

I don't see that as a bad thing.

A sticky would stifel a lot of that participation IMO, and I think it's great that SX threads are a place that's populated by both aspiring players, and people who have been "around the block" a few times.

You don't get much of that in (insert your super high end bass of choice here) threads.

We want to get new people into the fold, and post here right? The SX threads are good vehicles for that IMO.

I think overall these threads are a good thing. (required IMO)

I still consider most of the threads on this site about SX bass guitars as spam...too many that could have been a quick search. Make a section for SX guitars and mods to your SX guitar and give them somewhere to chat with each other. I'm sure you could take out the ASK MIKE WATT section :( I've lost hope he is coming back.

Explain why you read and post on a thread that you don't think should exist? You are propagating this threads existence dude!
Makes about as much since as someone hating Ford autos and repeatedly visiting their showroom to complain.
I wonder if you are part of a spam effort to get people to defend Rondo. Me thinks you may be part of the conspiracy all along. Try a tin foil hat when reading TB. :D

Marty, Why are you so offened by SX threads? You continue to imply that Rondo is putting up these threads when you call them Spam, and that's just not the case. There just happens to be a fair amount of satisfied customers, all who have slapped down their hard earned dollars for these insturments, and are sharing our experineces.

Nobody is making you read the threads. Is having to click the mouse a line or two early to get to "page 2" REALLY that inconvenient?

I've only posted in this thread a few times. I'm not as hardcore on the subject as you seem to be :) I wrote a review on the MarbassCMD102P the greatest combo you can buy, I think everyone should go out and buy one today. When I turn my Markbass combo up it shakes the foundation in my house and people in Japan phone me to ask if I can turn it down, true story.

Its in the Review section under Markbass CMD102P...I wrote to them and they sent me a free T-shirt :) and I'm friends with them on Myspace.

Hey! Free T-Shirt. Doesn't that make you and endorsing artist now? :D just kidding. Marty, you realize you've recieved more free stuff from Markbass than I have from SX or Rondo right? :D

Here's the link if anyone else is intersted in the review. Interesting.

So, I read farther down , no control to attenuate the horn?

There already is such a place. :)

(check my sig).

I was at the local NAMM show here in my suburban mall and its under the radar right now but I've heard the new SX model bass guitars will come with an attenuation knob that will coincide with Markbass putting a long awaited mute button on there Combo's, true story.

Funny, but serious off topic question. Is there an attenuater for the horn, cause if there isn't that would be a big reason for someone like me to go with a head/cab instead of a combo. I've palyed the 1x12 Markbass combo, and the LMII and was fairly impressed with them .

The LMII is on my list of "gear to investigate further" along w/ thier lightweight 2x10 cab.

Is there an attenuater for the horn?

quick search..found this

Even if your sound has loads of bass (a little bit attenuated by the limiter for very high-volume playing), boosting treble will result in added presence in the final sound, without an audible pumping effect. But if you want to have a little bit of dirt in the sound you will not do it by clipping the CMD 151P, because it is physically unfeasible. This amp for bass guitars is designed to process the sound in such a way as to maintain the tonal characteristics of the instrument at any volume, though you can soup it up if you need to. This is not a tool for creating a specific, more or less cult, or distorted sound. It should be loudly, dynamically, clearly and far out! At ease!"
