Free Elixir 20ft cable

I got my cable today. Compared to my Musician Friend's cable it wins hands down. It appears to have more output and a tighter midrange. Compared to my Zoalla Silverline cable it fails. The Zoalla is much more even and the low end is much more pronounced. My mids also seem to have more punch to them. The only problem comparing it with my Zoalla is that my Zoalla has a pure silver conductor while I'm guessing the Elixir is copper.

IMO the Elixir is too stiff. Might be good for a permanent install but I can't see it replacing my normal cable.

Unfortuantely those are the ony 2 cables I have to compare by.

Mine arrived yesterday. I will try it out during our church candle light service tonight. It seems to be a very well constructed cable. Sure can't beat the price!:D

A Groove is a Terrible Thing to waste!

I got mine yesterday. I played with it at practice last night. I kind of like the stiffness. It doesnt get in my way as much. Also, it does have a lot more top end sizzle. I never thought more expensive cables would make a difference, but they really do. Oh. and it is 20 ft. long... that is awesome as well.

The stiffness never got in my way either. I'm sure it'll work it's way out in a few months. The thickness and weight aren't an issue for me either. My bass is super light anyway so it's really no problem. I would, however, like a right angled end on one end. I think that would help with plugging it into my bass through the strap. Maybe when I need another cable I'll get an Elixir with a right angled end but for now the free one will work just fine.:bassist:

I got mine the other day. I like it. Really bulky though. I think in my comparisson of the Elixer and my George L's, the George L's wins for nice tidy cable. Since I keep everything in small places, I like the George L's. The Elixer has great ends. I don't like molded ends, but these have a very nice feel and push to them. The cable is thick, heavy and overall has a great Monster Cable 1000 feel. I have not put it though the paces on my rig yet, only though a practice rig and it did fine.
