I'd definitely recommend it.. it's easy to use and very tough. Depending on the kind of finish you're looking for it can either be brushed, or thinned down (with Cellulose thinners) and wiped on with a cloth as you would with an oil finish and of course it can be sprayed (again, when thinned). Only problem is I'm not sure if it's available over your side of the pond
Personally I brush it on and then buff by hand using 'Rustin's Burnishing Cream' and polishing cloth... it's a lot of work but I prefer to work by hand instead of using power tools all the time.

Is there a reason why you cut out the body before gluing the top on?
Yes, this body is going to be chambered, so it needs to be routed before the top can be glued on.
The "S" looks great, but what thickness is the top? those "ears" created by the S look like they might be prone to breakage with a hard knock.
