Frozen sealed tuner question, possible repair or a must replace?

As Lenny said, just buy a single replacement, or better yet, replace all of them with Hipshot Ultralite tuning keys which are a much better product (IME) and they are a direct drop-in, no drilling, reaming, sawing, hammering, etc. required.

Yes on this. I replaced some tuners with the hipshot USA ultra lites, and they are by far the best tuners I've ever had on a bass. The biggest difference with them is they hold the string in tune almost indefinitely. New strings take half the time to settle, and pitch is held much better than any of the gotoh style tuners I have on my others basses. I can slap or dig in hard and the strings stay in tune, where with the others I would have to touch up the tuning every three or four songs.

I don't know what makes them better, but whatever hipshot did was a home run.

Perhaps too late for the OP, but sealed tuners can be opened and fixed. I've done it. Look on line for how to disassemble. Good luck!

Just tune the other strings to the one that won't move. Insist you have perfect pitch.

I think the red uniform with the wide hat is worn at ceremonies.

Other times this is worn.
