One of my current band, gigging last summer at festivals in BC Canada.

Of course, it's easy to say 'gender doesn't matter' when you're a guy. :rollno:
TB is a very male dominated space... it often has bit of a mens locker room vibe going on, so anything that goes towards redressing that imbalance should be embraced by all!

There's no one I'd rather play with than to back a great lady vocalist, and I've played with great lady musicians, though it seems funny in a way to insert 'lady' before their vocation . . . . .

On the other hand, if the 'Me Too' movement ever spreads into the music business, shamefully it will make the revelations from TV and the Movie biz seem minor in comparison.

Frankly the term "lady" was never prefaced, at least not by me. On your other point - no kidding. (edited for acceptance here)

I'll not refrain, I prefer to explain instead: lavishing your "aknowledgement" to a musician because she's a woman is a kind of paternalistic, and sexist "aknowledgement" we don't need and is the wrongest direction you take if you care for equality.
We don't need this kind of crap, thank you very much.

Again, thank you for your opinion, which you are entitled to here. Wasn't aware of my "lavishing" ... seems an interpretation you prefer to accept.

Wiktionary says: The single-word comparative and superlative forms wronger and wrongest are no longer in common use, except humorously; rather, the locutions “more wrong” and “most wrong” are preferred.Apr 23, 2018

I've always been a fan of female leaders. when I was a propman in Hollywood, my early job was part of the set dressing crew, my best experience was with a woman that was the assistant to the decorator, the leader of the crew called the "leadman" and she was great as a boss. I also prefer to have women doctors because my experience has been women are more sympathetic.

The leader of the seniors ukulele group to which I belong, is a woman, Cali Rose, a very accomplished musician having spent years performing all over the country. The group meets twice a week for ukulele classes that she teaches, which she's very good at too, but it's really more like rehearsal for the various gigs we do through the year.
