And thanks for adding that pic! I can only hope the adults in the room will help keep this thread a positive, forward moving one, which is what this thread is about.

WADR, bass players are just another player in the band but there's this whole site called talkbass that 'singles' them out. And as far as the title, I felt it was simple and descriptive of my concept. "them" is not, but thanks for your opinion. :)

Glad to hear this - consider it a learning experience. Guys in bands toss off criticism/cuts more 'cause that's what guys do, especially fellow musicians. The longer you are associated with women in a band, and depending on their own humor etc, you can have fun along similar lines. And criticism should always be constructive - that way when it's needed it can be addressed seriously w/o taking it personally. If something needs to be pointed out to make the band better - everyone should support that as it is for the good of the band. Bottom line - have fun! :bassist:

I've played in bands for going on 30 years with ladies, and never had a gender-related problem even once. To tell the truth, I prefer the work ethic most of them have displayed. The most drama-fraught band I ever played in had no women, just a bunch of slobs (albeit, talented slobs) who couldn't get past the first set break without some form of recreational drugs. The rest of every night went downhill from there.

Give me X chromosomes to gig with anyday.

I'm reopening after a bit of cleanup and changing the thread title. Yes it's generic, and yes the former title was also the name of a band, but it also was a slogan in a political campaign. If the OP wants a different title that isn't political, that's fine.

Also, If this thread is about band members, discussion should be allowed without posting a picture. "Hot Babe" threads aren't allowed...it hasn't happened yet, nor do I consider that the point of this thread, but consider this a general warning. I'd rather keep this open.

If you have a problem with my edits, please don't post about it here.
If you have a problem with the idea of this thread, please don't post about it here.

Ok then - new title, same concept. If any women out there in tb land have suggestions for a new title, let me know. The generic one will suffice for now. As you can see, this thread will be monitored so please act like adults or as one of the other mods earlier suggested, move on.

Here's another recent pic of my current band with Kirstin on keys and vocals at a club here in SF - I feel very fortunate that she is in our band. I'm the BL and we all sing, with her and Paul (guitar) sharing main-vocal duties.
