My question was genuine as am am approaching the same situation you are. I am sorry you are dealing with this, but it sounds like your level of displeasure will not be resolved with a new unit so I am guessing you are seeking to return. I intend to keep mine, so I was hoping someone might be able to confirm if the decal can be removed. It seems seamlessly to pass over the display, so I am wondering...

Sorry you read it that way. What I meant was - I would like a way to resolve this that didn't involve spending $100+ on a custom etch.

And no - I would really prefer not to have to send my unit back to Hungary.

One thing is for sure - I am now 100% convinced that the Future Impact just kills it sonically without even having to plug it in.

It does sound amazing. I truly hope you get it fixed without spending another penny. Me, I still kinda want it etched. Honestly I was thinking about it before I got mine. The decal really made me want to do it. It defiantly has a hand applied, non mass produced, and bit of a crafty kinda feel. It looks like the input holes were cut with an exacto-knife.

Yours is really damaged, it should be replaced.

Me, I took the rest in stride considering it's the first run, it was earlier than I expected, and the company is two people.... That said, I hope they listen to the feedback and apply it to the FI2

I think most of the other small builders that use stickers also clear coat the pedal to protect the sticker.

We all have to keep in mind this is a small shop making a niche V1.0 product. We have to try to enjoy what it CAN do as opposed what it cannot. Which is really hard from me, personally. I always want more. :)

That's an interesting idea - I wonder if I could clear coat it once I put the sticker on? Not really right? It would have to be completely disassembled to do that right? Maybe my local tech could take it apart, apply the sticker, clear coat it and then reassemble?

Meh, I wouldn't take it to a tech to do that, it isn't exactly complicated. I'm not sure it would make a difference anyway. I have tons of pedals with decals/stickers on the enclosure and very few, if any, of them have a clear coat over the sticker. More likely the temperature variance during shipping caused the label to puff up and then the stress of being moved around just made it worse.

Yeah, it's probably not worth it. Getting it etched would be cooler for sure. Rehoused and etched is clearly the cream dream.
