The patches coming out of this pedal are now at the next level. Honestly not sure of anything else that can touch it right now.

Hi Q, what expression pedal are you using with the MC-6? How many controllers did you use with the FI before settling on the MC-6? I’m a complete noob when it comes to Midi so would like to put together a useful setup without doing much trial-and-error. Thanks!Next breakthrough:
I’ve added some new cool functions to my II-V-I functions on the MC6 - I can now switch whether I’m going root up or root down to the V chord by a long press of the II chord. Also managed to build in enough functions to jump back to the main FI page.

I’m using a Moog EP-3.
This is my first controller. It was between either this or the Boss ES-8. Due to the latter’s pedal loops functionality I may still get one. I only went for the MC6 as one came up on eBay. I’m so glad I did. You cannot go wrong with this thing (other than its not being a USB MIDI host).
This is so intuitive to use and you can make it do almost anything. If you get one, I’ll be making my setup file available.
You only need one expression pedal to use this - you can select on the fly what you want the pedal to control (anything between 1 and 16 messages)!

I did consider that too but the Boss ES-8 allows the loops’ order to be configured per preset whereas, as far as I can tell, the ML5 has a fixed signal path.Yes the MC6 is the bomb for sure in such a small package. For those of you who aren’t aware, but there is a loop pedal that can go with the MC6 as well..

Indeed. I only wish there were a 12-button version or a way to chain two together. I know you can add an external button unit but I’d like the extra screen area. I might look into this.Yes the MC6 is the bomb for sure in such a small package. Extremely powerful pedal.
Most definitely the boss is more versatile. I have the Boss es5 and love it. But the ML5 is a good option for those who might not need all the bells and whistles of the boss and perhaps don’t have the real estate on their board for a boss.I did consider that too but the Boss ES-8 allows the loops’ order to be configured per preset whereas, as far as I can tell, the ML5 has a fixed signal path.
Buy a small cheap PC laptop for programming duty.Hi there, i'm having trouble with using the FI editor. (Always crash and won't load properly). My Macbook Pro is late 2011, and i can't update my OS to Catalina because it's too old. Any suggestions?
Have you removed all old files from a previous install? Have you downloaded the latest Mac version?Hi there, i'm having trouble with using the FI editor. (Always crash and won't load properly). My Macbook Pro is late 2011, and i can't update my OS to Catalina because it's too old. Any suggestions?
I have good news for you. Zsolt Rammer, our expert for both PC and MAC programs has investigated the problem with the Catalina OS, and he found that our editor works fine under Catalina. There are just a few things you should take care of. Since I am not familiar with the MAC world, I rather cite his investigation result exactly:
I checked the editor on the latest version of Catalina (10.15.1) and everything works fine. The application is compatible with the latest macOS. But users can't run the app in the latest macOS, because the file attributes are changed in the zipped archive somehow. I think the error was caused by the wetransfer service. Because of this we are going to publish on the pandamidi web page the version that was not going through wetransfer. The new version will be available there until noon tomorrow CET.
Otherwise, Catalina users can change the file attributes manually. The solution is to use the "chmod -R 755 <filepath of FIEditor.app>" command in the console. For Catalina users, my installation advice is to change the downloaded FIEditor.app attributes to number 755 and follow the instructions in the FI user manual. Furthermore, if the editor doesn't start, delete the "FIEditor" directory under path "Users/Username/Library/Application Support". Until a new release is available, I suggest this workaround.

Got a better implementation of slash chords going, but only in root position so far until I work something out for inversions again.

@maisbass it still needs some finessing before I can share it.
Would you care to make a small monthly pledge to me on Patreon as a token gesture for the many hours I’ve been putting in on this? I could share my workings.I'd be interested in the raw data so I can program it in an ES-8

AWW YEAH! Nailed it!I had hoped to be able to get the inversions to function on the exrpession pedal - ooh, I might have just figured out a way...
