Now I’m over here like “panda audio should just make a multiFX unit with the FI built in”

I haven’t got around to rehousing mine yet. Still deciding:

That’s an older patch of mine which I think I have shared publicly.
seems i didn't upload it yet. It's a variation on my "Late Bass" patch that I did upload.Do you recall the name?
I’ve got one of the original 100.
He simply reused the general design of the original Akai unit, which IMO is more interesting than yet another rectangular Hammond enclosure and probably kept costs down. The art is a bit amateur sure, but again that isn’t really his focus, costs decent money to pay someone else to hone in well, and people are always gonna love or hate the aesthetic of anything like this anyway. Its a pretty cheap pedal for what you get as far as function IMO, so I temper my expectations about secondary traits like looks. It’s not offensive, the art/labeling is functionally sound, and looks nicer than sharpie on a bare enclosure. If people wanna bling theirs up then go ahead- it’s not that hard or expensive to do so.
Don’t worry, I didn’t read it that way at all.Touché, sir!
Apologies! I didn't mean for my post to sound like a flex, but I guess it does now that I read it back. I guess I just got excited about being in on the preorder.

Here's a question:
@Andras Szalay - Will you be signing the preorder units like you did with the FI v1? Because that'd be cool. Just sayin.'
(My main FI is a second run v1, but you still signed those.)

Just so I can be unappreciated 10 years from now?@Adamixoye loves lists, since he started the first FI list, he can tell us who all has the first 100
I have purchased a V4 and MIDI-CV/gate break out cable and requested it be autographed, yes I am a nerd that way.Honestly, I did not think about it, but as you are requesting here, surely I can do it.
It was just funny as a large dealer in Germany reported that a customer wanted to send back his unit. He protested because he bought a brand new unit, and there was a name written on the bottom of the pedal, so he was convinced that they sold him a second hand unit

You don’t need MIDI to do that - just send the same audio input signal to both FI units (using something like a Boss LS-2 or AB-Y unit, or a Morningstar ML10X, or a Y (splitter) cable).Looking for clarification about the new midi out of V4. (As I just placed my preorder). I couldn’t find any explanation or picture of the cv/gate cable, but it sounds like it takes 5 pin midi and gives separate cv and gate outs on 1/4”(??) jacks? I wonder, will you be able to trigger/play another midi capable device with simply using a 5 pin midi connection? For example, I think it would be very gratifying to play my bass into an FI V4, take the midi out to play my FI V3, and mix the audio out of both FI’s. Imagine two identical presets, except one has the oscillators tuned a few cents off, or two completely different presets. Could be huge and wonderful.
Am I misunderstanding something or is this possible with the V4?
Yes then, I definitely misunderstood. No midi note info foils my plan. I know sending audio to both would achieve the same result, but if the V4 does actually track better, my proposed setup would let the V3 benefit from the tracking of the V4. I will be patient, and spend some time finally learning how to program sounds. You don’t need MIDI to do that - just send the same audio input signal to both FI units (using something like a Boss LS-2 or AB-Y unit, or a Morningstar ML10X, or a Y (splitter) cable).
CV out is on two 3.5mm cables via the adapter cable out of the usually unused pins in MIDI OUT port.
Audio input does not generate MIDI note output. (It may be added later but there are more pressing things to be addressed first.)
I do agree that a full fledged MIDI out would be great but the DV/Gate option offers a great potential.Looking for clarification about the new midi out of V4. (As I just placed my preorder). Maybe it’s time to stop ignoring the cv inputs on my PLL.I do agree that a full fledged MIDI out would be great but the DV/Gate option offers a great potential.
This is what what a CV/GATE output is and can do in the realm of electronic music, there are many synthesizers and other devices that can use this information. For myself having several vintage analog synths this opens a lot of possibilities as well as being able to use the CV/Gate output to drive my modular creations in VCV Rack2. MIDI does offer many additional possibilities but there is much charm in the CV/Gate world of experiences.
FWIW I often use either a delay or a TC 3rd dimension to synth tracks for fullness.
Here’s a couple of clips. The first clip shows the new oscillator sync feature (please excuse the noise - I was daisychaining the Beat Buddy and so had a lot of ground hum). The second clip is properly isolated. The audio is still coming out of the Beat Buddy so not representative of the proper sound quality when recording direct.
I’ll post more clips in a few days hopefully. (Just recovering from surgery this morning and in a lot of pain.)Those audio clips are making me sick of GAS. Please, stop or I will buy a Future Impact V4.
