Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

Dang that is tempting! Curious how you find the tracking via CV? Does it still follow the Future Impact method of triggering the gate of the note first then the pitch-tracking shortly after?
It’s the same speed as the FI.

In case you missed it, pitch tracking priority can now be switched between speed and accuracy so you can now choose to have the note be spat out only once the pitch has been read (at the expense of some extra latency).

Nice! I’ve grown to like the approach of the FI v3 after lots of comparison with other options, but having the choice is cool and potentially handy for use with external synths

One of the really cool new additions is having the full release time even on bass-triggered patches.

This obviously works very well for sounds that have slow envelope attack time. I’ve made a really nice string sound that comes in behind the bass notes. I’ll be tweaking it to take advantage of the added split function so that it only comes in above a certain input volume level. Then can play lines over it while it sustains.

V4 User Manual

Folks, here is the V4 user guide. (The final version may differ slightly if there are any errors or additions between now and the actual release firmware version.)

My Rob O'Reilly midi bass is finally coming together. Another few weeks to complete set up etc. Can't wait to try it out with the FI version 4!

Nice! I wish I’d gone with one of Rob’s builds as the Industrial Radio order I made was a farce: 4 years with nothing to show and near-zero communication. I had to fight tooth and nail to get my deposit back.

This has been a long process too. Ordered May 2022. Had given up hope a couple of times along the way. But now super excited. Should be a nice sounding bass too. Seymour Duncan pickups and a pezio pickup in the bridge.

Two years is not too bad for something that likely suffered from electrical parts shortages. I waited over a year for my Shuker bass and my Rhodes piano.

Definitely the parts shortage was an issue. Do you have any idea when the FI v4 will start shipping?
Should be sometime in April. We’re just testing out the latest revision as I found a bug the other day which required a fix. Getting very close now with some nice little under-the-hood tweaks being added.
