That is scarily accurate.I can't wait to ignore this and ask all my questions here while you remind me this exists![]()
hahaha those were the days! Countless ideas we all threw back and forth when it was just a wishful dream hoping it would come to fruition. I'm glad we pushed and pushed and that @Andras Szalay was receptive to our community and willing enough to make it happen. It really made my last years of gigging so so worthwhile and fulfilling on a creative level. One of my favorite things to do back them was feeding the FI into a distortion box and then a vocoder. Oh man I had a blast doing that for countless hours on end. I used to drive my bandmates bat sh*t crazy lol. Btw do you know that every once in a while I'll still receive a random email request to access the FI Google drive patch library I used to host back in the day, before Panda had patch sharing on their site? It cracks me up every time I receive a request so many years later, but it also puts a smile on my face. What a great community here on this thread. We all helped eachother back in the day sharing patches and creating those funky bass synth sounds. And then Peter just came along and took it to a whole other level. Q @Quatschmacher the synth wizard. He deserves a lot of credit too helping Andras and his team pushing the envelope on a truly incredible synth product for bass. I hope everyone is doing well. Cheers!Just so I can be unappreciated 10 years from now?
NO THANK YOU SIR
Hope all is well buddy and wish you a speedy recovery too.I’ll post more clips in a few days hopefully. (Just recovering from surgery this morning and in a lot of pain.)
I’ve done the manual now, barring any late extra additions/changes).
Thanks, Mike! I’m getting there. I hope you are well.Hope all is well buddy and wish you a speedy recovery too.

I’ve emailed this directly to @Andras Szalay in case he doesn’t check in here.A question about SPLIT mode. Typically I use BASS mode. However, I send the FI and the bass to separate amplifiers. In BASS mode the FI output also carries the pre-amp signal of my bass even when the FI is off. In SPLIT mode the pre-amp signal of my bass does not go through when the FI is off. This is Great! But, that only seems to work if I use the physical on/off switch on the FI unit. If I use midi cc 66 or 69 to turn on/off the FI then none of the synth signal is output in SPLIT mode (even though the light on the FI turns on and off as expected). It only seems to work as intended if I use the physical on/off switch. Is that a feature of SPLIT mode or am I doing something incorrectly? If it is a feature then it would be great if that could be addressed with the V4 firmware because on stage I use midi controllers and don't have easy access to the FI unit. My guess from reading the manual is that it is something to do with flipping relay switches off versus muting signals.
If it did send MIDI note data, it would have been in the manual. (Isn’t that a bit like when Amazon ask people to send photographic evidence of a parcel having not turned up?)I breezed through the manual and did not see an answer.
Is using the MIDI-CV adaptor the only way to control the external synth, or does FI v4 also send MIDI note data? If MIDI-CV cable is needed, I'll need to order one. I already ordered the v4.

It’s a code space limitation. These things are always a bit of a trade-off. It was felt (rightly in my opinion) more important to devote code space to tracking improvements.Sure, I was checking to see if I missed something, as it seems strange to offer CV-out through the MIDI port but not MIDI note data. My guess is there are some technical limitations that they have to work around. I'm glad for the innovation. I just sent a message to see if they can add the MIDI-CV cable to my purchase. MIDI would be easier, but CV will work fine for all my monos.
I hope I can get my Moogs to work as well as he got the Moogs in the video to work. I had the original FI, I remember it being allot of fun but when I actually wanted to record a synth sound I still reached for one of my keyboards or modules. I am excited to experience the tracking improvements and the new CV features. I have almost repurchased the FI several times, but this update pushed me over the edge.
I’ve been using FI4 with the Behringer Model D during testing and it works just as well as the FI itself.
Thank you. It wasn’t the outcome I was hoping for but hopefully have time and relative youth on my side.So sorry to hear that mate! Best wishes.
And a positive attitude!Thank you. It wasn’t the outcome I was hoping for but hopefully have time and relative youth on my side.
Not the best of news but keep up the good fight, I know it can be beat as a survivor myself and my 89 year old Mother has been in remission from the worst of cancers for 5 years now. Treatments have come a long way.In other news, biopsy results today weren’t favourable so I have to go in for the same procedure again within three weeks and then chemo starts. :-(
