Not sure how much space is left for extra effects. I’m sure I’ve suggested SRR/bitcrush before. I think I’d prefer to see something a bit more mainstream first such as phaser.Really enjoying the Future Impact pedal.
Just had a few feature requests, I see the creator posts here so thought I'd list them here, not sure where else to put them.
1. Bitcrusher / samplerate reducer in the effects section, should be simple to implement, having a resonant filter going into a bitcrusher is a great and computationally cheap way of opening up a bunch of formant sounds as well as a fun way of creating interesting distortions.
2. There are several controls that aren't smoothed, creating the zipper sound when adjusted, this makes assigning a Flexi curve to them useless. For example, the delay time in the delay effect as well as, I believe, the distortion/harmoniser controls.
3. The EQ effect seems to already affect the subs and top end when engaged without any of the bands being adjusted, if it could be completely flat when set flat that would be helpful.
4. Highpass and lowpass filters, not resonant ones, just utilities for cutting extreme subs and top end. The highpass should be an 18dB or otherwise fairly steep slope ideally.
5. In the effect section rather than choosing between either EQ into Distortion or Distortion into EQ it would be nice to have the option of an EQ on either side.
That's about all I can think of right now.
Thanks again, this is a really useful pedal, especially now it's in a smaller enclosure.
FM and ring mod have also been things I’d want to see before bitcrush.
Formants can already be achieved to a degree by sweeping the two (boosted) mid bands of the EQ.
There are also a few other refinements that would benefit all users, such having continuous control of the pitch-tracked filter (or at least some further options between 0 and 100%).
The zippering on the delay lines has been there from v3 where we didn’t have any space left for refinement. I have definitely mentioned this as an area for improvement in the past. I agree, it would be good if this could be addressed.
I’ve either not noticed the EQ not being flat before or not been bothered by it, but hopefully @Andras Szalay can investigate.
High pass could be useful. 6-12dB is quite common on synths and does the job. You can achieve some of this by cutting the low shelving filter and adjusting its curve.
Funnily enough I also recently suggested having the option of an EQ either side of the distortion.
