Fuzzrocious Club - Sextuplet

How many people bring fancy gear to gigs and they don't even have any cd's or t shirts for sale. Merch is how you make a profit without selling your musical soul. Having that been said, the Demon pedal rules. I've never had a distortion pedal that makes things clearer but the midrange tweak on the demon compared to the OCD really gives the Demon that SVT tone, and I played an all tube SVT-2 Pro for years. This pedal sounds as good as that amp with the tube drive and input gain controls cranked. Its my all time favorite pedal at this point, I never thought I could get that sound again without going all tube.

Right on. These days touring and merch are the only way to make money. Outside of internet presence and social networking, which is just another way to find your audeince and get people to shows. Check out Janek Gwizdala's book. Great info in there. I'm not sure were your playing that people would look down apon selling merch. But my bands avoid bars at all costs. People there rarely care about music. Now, getting on stage and mentioning the merch table between every song is pretty lame. People know its there. But how else could a band make ends meet on tour if not for tshirts and records (and beer coozy's of course).

Oh, and the demon is outstanding. A great tweak on a pedal that needed a great tweak. I also feel like the Helio is one of Ryans best pedals and Im surprised that I don't hear about it more on the forum. Its really a unique, musical fuzz w/ alot of tone options. Maybe the idea that it was inspired by a Failure song distracts people that don't know Failure. They are really missing out on a great pedal.

I've spent a long night reading about various pedals, clones, extreme cork sniffing effects snobs, etc. Now I have a question. What I'm looking for is lightly compressed od that can get bassy. I know that looking for an od means there will be compression, but I want something that stacks well but has a nice eq to it that can give my bass more body. By body, I mean more bass and low mids.

Broke Dick Peanut Gallery. Hands down, that's what you're describing and will need to fulfill that tone.

I have been using my BDPG as a preamp running straight into the effects return of a GK700rb and it sounds great, the distortion is much more subtle that way but man with the Demon pedal it has a very vintage tube amp sound. GK rb series amps are the ideal conduit for this because of the boost feature in the power amp section. With the boost cranked and the volume on the BDPG cranked I have no volume loss and its very clean and quiet. The GS also has a very vintage sound in this setup. I keep my input gain around 2 o'clock and the tone between 10 and 11 o'clock on the bdpg and its nice and punchy. If you don't have a GK head you would probably need a boost pedal as a driver section to maintain headroom.

I should be receiving my BDPG today and I have a 1001 RB. Are you running all your effects into your effects return? I would think so because as soon as you plug anything into the return it renders the preamp in the head mute doesn't it?

BAM! New pedal day.

Thanks Ryan. (...And nice paint work to Shannon - really nice!)

- Dual gain
- Clean blend

I'm a huge fan of my helio, it's slowly becoming my main fuzz.

I just received a DD through a trade and I first I thought that it may be too subtle for what I was after. But, after I kept playing with it and jammed it live, it's a keeper for me. Awesome pedal. After all, it's suppose to be subtle. I really dig the sounds I can get out of it, very mild OD that adds a lot of body to my sound. Plus, the pedal just looks awesome. The blue and green lights are sweet.

Received my BDPG # 050 today :) I'm not sure where to place it in my chain though. I have it second to last right now and I'm wondering if it would be better after my B7K or before it. Anyone out there using this combination? Im going to try some different spots and see where it sounds best but would like to hear where yall are putting yours. Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

By answering these questions, the forum can better help:
Are you using the B7K at all times as a preamp?
Are you trying to use the BDPG as a preamp?
Are you trying to use both as always on preamps?

Or are you just using one, the other, or both as "pedals?"

I think, if I had both I would use them both as pre-amps at the end of the chain, but at different times for different tones. Thats what I did with the Rusty box and the VT bass and later the rusty and the meatsmoke pre. Don't forget to try the rattail with the BDPG towards the end of the chain. I remember digging that combo the best. Let us know what you find from using both. I had both but at different times. I would guess that the BDPG might sound better before the B7k. But Id love to hear what they sound like together. Before and after. I have not had good results stacking pre amps. But hey, Ive never tried to stack the BDPG. So let us know.
