I have to say the flight case I got with mine is super bomb proof. But I would like a lighter option when not as needed. I just want a gig bag that has enough substance to protect it from accidental dings and nicks

this thing is beyond nice.
definitely gives mono cases a run for the money. oh, and about half the price!
the micro fleece interior is on point. wish i could crawl into the bag for nap-time.

hmm so the spec page is being a bit conservative then? Is you Gould also coming in at almost exactly 47"?it's actually about 50" from end to end.
it has that little 'pillow' to shorten the length to about 47"
but my gould fits just fine.
the neck 'brace' keeps the bass still when in the case.
