G&L Club Part 7

The doctor examined my hand today and gave me a prescription for an EMG, that has been scheduled on April 29. He is a jazz addict too, and he says I can go on with the bass and horse riding, but yet with no exaggeration, thus it will not worsen. He even kindly mentioned I am a jazz bass player on the prescription. I think it's back on a good track. Band practice tomorrow night.

I've got me my ASAT and it's slowly becoming my fave bass. Got GHS (I think) tapes on at present. I had a Tribute L2500 a while ago but couldn't bond with it. As Julius Summer-Miller would say.....WHY IS IT SO?

Wasn't the FEEL of the bass. Was that i couldn't seem to pull a good tone outta it.

Are the L2000/2500 THAT/any different to the ASAT?

I'm tempted to grab another ASAT so i can have flats on one and. .....or maybe 2 more ASATs...... or perhaps 3. :woot::woot:

Flats, yes. Start flipping switches and turning knobs, you'll get all sorts of tones.

The Honeyburst does look a lot like my Old School Tobacco Burst LB-100. Beautiful.

I am very pleased with d'Addario rounds. These come OEM with all G&L basses excepts those with a fretless neck. Give a fantastic B-string sound on my L-2500.
The tone controls give a wider choice of tones, no need to say. I would even say this bass is not a bass for flats. I know what I am saying as all my other 5 (passive) basses are with flats (Chromes or RotoSound 77). I tried once flats on my ex-M-2500 and it was not a sustainable match. Just my own opinion.
Through body is only useful to hold the bridge more firmly onto the body than the 2 little side screws. G&L has definitely gone away from through-body bridges on most of their basses (not sure for Tribbies though).
