Very stupid question...

I removed the pickguard from my '96 SB-1 to add some shielding foil.
One of the pickguard screws is longer than the rest.
99% of the time when disassembling stuff I'll set down the screws in a way that maintains their relative position.
This 1% of the time I didn't.

Anyone know where the longer one goes?
My guess would be by the output jack or pickup.

You guessed right, the longer one goes at the tip near the output jack.

make a tracing. It's pretty painless and they do a great job with minimal turnaround time. I wanted a

See prior post. Another alternative... G&L started making pickguards in house several years ago and you can order direct from their web store for some models/years. Noting that ordering from G&L will limit you to G&L color selection.

I had them do an aged pearl for my 2018 Kiloton and it is really fine. They didn't even need me to send my old one, but that varies. Best to call them. I haven't had any luck for a year getting them to message me back. (530) 899-1503

I did use these guys for my '93 LB-100. Perfect fit from their templates.

Basically, what I did was shop the various color selections, and then place an order. They got back to me
within a few days, indicating that I need to send in my original. Once they received my original guard, they
sent me an invoice with the quote and I paid by Paypal. I got my original back along with the new guard, in
just a couple weeks. Perfect fit of course, and I am very happy with my purchase.

The bass as received....spec sheet said "parchment", but I'm not a fan of white pickguards in general.

This is their Color 132 Matte Black/White/Black 3-ply .090". I love the way it works with the blueburst:

Thanks. The L2K is certainly numero uno. It's truly a joy to play.

Once I get it set up with the GHS Precision flats I ordered today from the TalkBass store (last set they had), the Fallout Trib will probably live at church since that's where I get all of my stage time. That single MFD pup is sure to make its presence known in the mix (running it through a Sansamp VT DI) even in parallel mode.

Did the same with mine. Apparently G&L wants no part of being in the pickguard business.
