Not sure of different GL models comparative body sizes, but I do like both my L-1000 and JB2 bodies.
I owned a Kiloton, and really loved the overall feel of it strapped on, just not the J bass size nut.
I sold it, and really miss the MFD pickup/location sound. (My Wunkay has a factory alnico humbucker instead of the usual MFD.)
It’s a great sounding pickup, different and warmer sounding to the mighty MFD.

still jealous that they don't get factory PLEK'd anymore! Hoping for the best, and that if it doesn't work out, I can recoup the costs on the private market since I don't see any used ones on reverb and the price for new just shot back up $300 since the sale ended.
Anyone have a Kilo 5? Thoughts? Considering a 5 string and my Kilo 4 works well for the new project I'm working on but I will need a 5 string for some songs. Also, what is the string spacing on the Kilo 5?

I like my Kilo 5. Slightly less chunky neck than my L2500 and the Kilo body shape is slimmer. Expect Kilo 5 sounds the same as your Kilo 4.
17.5mm spacing. If you want 19mm on a G&L you have to go for a series 750. That leaves you with an L1000 or L2500.
Edit: G&L 5 strings are 17mm not 17.5mm. Exceptions: Series 750 which are 19mm and L5000 which is 15mm.

Thanks. Going to see if I can find one locally to play (even it it's a Tribute). I "think" 18mm spacing would work, maybe 17.5 will as well. Anything less than that I know will be too tight for my liking.
They do not offer a Tribute Kiloton 5. If you cannot find a Kilo 5, the L2500 or JB5 will have the same string spacing. Noting the bodies/necks will feel different.
If you are after something in the Tribute Kiloton price range (read as sub $1000), then the Tribute L2500 and the Sterling Ray35 are both great options (own and am happy with both). Have been seeing positive reviews on the Sire Z basses as well.
I'm open on pricing (although first choice would be less expensive). I'll also check out a Sterling Ray35 (will probably be easier to find than a Kilo 5). Have to look at the Sire Z.
FWIW, all G&L 5s except the 750 series are 17mm, not 17.5mm. However, I was of the opinion for decades that I couldn't play anything less than 18.25mm (Fender), until my desire for an L2500 overcame my fear of narrow spacing and I soon realized it wasn't a big deal at all. So maybe don't let the number sway you before you actually spend time with one (a few hours, not just minutes in a shop).
Thanks for correcting me. I knew I was going to get the 17 v 17.5 wrong. Did it when I ordered my NordyMute and ended up having to order a second one.
Well, I was gonna let it slide, but then @RL5 mentioned the string spacing specifically and I thought maybe I should respond with the correct info.
I double checked myself against posts on Talkbass instead of double checking my mutes. Surprising the number of times 17.5 has been incorrectly stated.
Thanks to both of you for the responses. I'm really going to have to sit down and play a 5er with 17mm string spacing and see if I can adjust after a bit. While there are a couple of L-2500 750's available on Reverb, I think I'd prefer something a bit less expensive. My herd is growing (currently at 6). Don't really need to be spending a bunch on a new bass. If I can adjust to 17mm spacing, I can look at less expensive basses.

I am going to make a wild guess before it comes in... 45th Anniversary SB2 (guess is purely based on the fact that those recently released and is probably incorrect).

Excellent guess but no. Its from the 80s - 90s era. Those DA truss rods make me nervous.
I'm really tempted by the 45th Anniversary L2500 CLF. My wife digs the metallic blue, too.

Woa woa Im just seeing the sapphire blue 45s now. Love the color. It’s not one of those.
I like the color. I also liked the 40th anniversary basses. Think I will be setting aside some of my gear budget for 5 years from now (hopefully the 50th is not a let down).
