Been awhile since I have had all of my G&Ls out at the same time. Tribute Fallout, US L2500, and L5000 had been in cases for a few months. Sold off some electric guitars, so I had room on the stands for more basses.

With mine it's either/or. If I have the bass in active I don't use the pedal. In passive mode I use it. I find they're two distinct sounds, each with their own uses. Your's is a cool looking pedal, I'd love to mess with one in a store sometime.
Glad you have it back! May I ask how long it took for the neck? I'm at 7 months now waiting to get a bass back, hoping it comes soon.
When I bought my Kiloton, it was strung with GHS Balanced Nickles. I played in a fairly raucous 3piece band, and it had plenty of grit and bite, but with a smooth feel. I was going to try DR Pure Blues on it, a favorite, but ending up selling the bass before geting around to it.
I think the ghs set was maybe just a bit more mellow than the DR would've been.
Edit: another vote for GHS Pressuewounds, as well.

It was five months after they received it that I got it back.
Ugh! Well, had my Kiloton out for a quick tune up with my tech and while getting everything in shape he noticed a missing piece (see pic). All I need is one screw and spring. G&L seems to be sold out of 4 string bridges and I don't need a full bridge anyway. Anyone have a spare?

I had the same problem on a used (US) MJ4 I bought recently. I was able to get a replacement screw from the hardware store. Still haven't gotten a replacement spring though. Interestingly enough, I don't think all the saddle screws are exactly the same size. I tried a saddle screw from my (US) JB2 and it did not fit. It was like one was metric and one was imperial or something.

My tech has a spring, I think, and suggested he might be able to find a screw at a HW store. May go that route. Thanks for letting me know you found one. Gives me confidence I can get this fixed quickly, at least for now.

Thanks for the suggestion. I e-mailed Memo last night and he already got back to me. They're mailing the screw and spring. This is clearly an easy issue to fix, but I didn't expect such a quick response. Great customer service on this issue.
If only they were that prompt on all service related issues.
Not every issue is as easy to deal with as mine was. Guess I got a bit lucky.

I have a Trib that I really like, but with my back, it is getting heavy. I'm looking for lightweight tuners so that I can switch out the Trib tuners.
My understanding is that the G&L tuners are the lightest around. I've been trying to buy some for a long time, but the online store doesn't have them. And Greg can't seem to get them either.
Do you guys know where G&L sources their tuners? Clearly, they don't make them themselves, they must buy them from some distributor. If I can't buy them from G&L, maybe I can get the same thing somewhere else...any ideas?

Curious why G&L often lists components as sold out or unavailable? Are they not able to predict inventory needs better than that? Or in some instances they simply don't sell the product themselves at all. I would think The Store could be very profitable or is there just not all that much demand for those parts and components?
Memo was able to get RL5 the parts he needed but wouldn't it save some time if G&L listed small parts for sale through their "store"? That would free up the time Memo or whoever spends quickly having to fill an order to something like RL5 needed and ship it all at N/C?
I love the product but some of their oddities and eccentricities are harder to deal with. Does Dave McClaren spend all of this time on making videos that he has none left to address some of his service related issues? Is there any other major instrument manufacturer that's as much of an enigma as G&L?

They have had inventory on the store and things restock periodically. I expect the issue is more with part availability. Parts used to always be in stock. In the last few years, they will be out of stock for long periods of time. I expect they have enough stock to support new builds and warranty type requests, but not enough to freely sell on the store.
Yeah, I suspect that's the case which leads me back to their system for ordering. Or are many of those parts not manufactured in the US which could potentially cause problem if their supply chain is interrupted. Given that there are no other sources for G&L parts and components like there is with Fender and Gibson having to depend solely on G&L can be annoying at times when something is unavailable for a long period of time.
They are proprietary tuners made for G&L by Schaller in Germany. Or they used to be sourced from Schaller. The tapered aluminum shaft and short key length is what made them proprietary for G&L, but the base plate shape and hole pattern is all Schaller. Perhaps Schaller has their own light-weight version now.
Also, you could install Hipshots if you don't mind redrilling. Or Gohot Reso-lites. FWIW, the Hipshot Ultralights are slghtly lighter than the G&L US tuners, so you could save maybe another 2oz with Hipshots over the G&Ls.
The G&L tuners sold on their site fit USA only, and they've been cheap imports since 2015. The tuner holes are smaller on Tributes. If one owns a number of various years of G&L's it becomes obvious which tuners hold their tune better as temperature and humidity changes.
