Wow, that looks like a nice one. Good price if it's in the great condition they're saying it's in. Don't see those for sale very often.
That store is about 45 min from me. If I was in the market for one.....(except I have to pay the exorbitant Illinois sales tax)
Just bought a used SB-2 Tribute from a person living in another city for an incredible amount of $220. Will have to wait for another two weeks because both the ex-owner and I happen to be going to Moscow at that time so we can skip the shipping hassles. Since the price was unusually low for Russia, I had to hire a local person there to thoroughly check the condition of the instrument, which was apparently OK (save for the need for a setup). Can't wait to get my hands on it—for a long time I've been curious about SB-2, and now the time has come to check it out, albeit in the form of a Tribute model.
been really liking the jazz pickup on the sb-2, therefore i'm going to kmod my L2000, which i'm assuming will be cheaper than getting another jazz bass, it'll be cool, because i also read that you can get a kinda musicman or L1500 vibe from having both the outer single coils selected too
This ragamuffin is perfect foil to my silver lady, no picture of them together I am not sure what would happen, something illegally too good,but here is my G&L family.

She's off having a little TLC after unfortunately having the controls knocked through into the cavity and will come back with a Stingray-esque (albeit larger) control plate so she'll be quite unique! I'll fire up a couple of photos when she's back home.

I think it was a progressive thing rather than happening immediately. I'd been doing some fly-out shows around Europe and Russia and noticed some varnish cracks appearing around the controls which I didn't really think much of at the time. A few months later I was downstairs and heard the horrible distinctive sound of a bass falling off it's stand, ran upstairs and quickly checked the neck and everything was fine but the next time I picked it up something stabbed my hand when I went for the volume - it was a shard of wood sticking out and the controls had been pushed into the cavity. Not completely, it was fairly stable and stayed like that for a while (and even did a good few more flights like that), I just thought it was about time to get it sorted. I'm not sure if they're all like mine but the wood the controls are mounted on did seem remarkably thin.
I'm still to this day at a loss as to how it managed to fall off the stand, I suspect the cat had something to do with it!
Instead of saying it's like a MusicMan control plate, you should say it's like an early G&L control plate!
@PaulNichols poor you, glad it will be fixed soon. If ever you have a gig In Bristol and you need emergency back up you can see my two beauties in the pic and happy to lend you so long as you left your cat at home and you don't roger them!!
Ah what a wonderful kind offer, thankyou! I'm not due in Brizzle again until late July and I'll be in my sound engineer guise for that one but the offer is very kind indeed and very much appreciated, mog would definitely be staying at home!
...and this is why I have dogs and only leave Fenders on the stands while the G&Ls stay in their cases. 
Cats are responsible for so many misadventures concerning basses. There are too many to mention. Those damn creature must have been guitarists in another lifetime!
