$750 Cad is about right. Try it out, if you like it, see if you can get a deal, the shop might be eager to move it. The Tribute line is good aside from the pots tending to get scratchy.

The store doesn't list the 1M as available, at least it doesn't show up in the drop down. I have found them in split shaft on
mouser along with the correct 113X jack. Seems the original LF441CN Op Amp is no longer available except on the secondary market as I was going to order a couple of those in too.
Is there a source for brass sleeve for adapting the knurled shaft or is that something that only G&L has?

On the G&L store, C1M is listed as 1MegC under the USA split shaft pots, and it notes that they include the brass sleeve.
The G&L online store also stocks the opamp, but it's a LM4250CN. It has a slightly different pin layout, so shouldn't work without a little extra modding. For the LF441, not sure where to point you.

I saw that AFTER I looked at your link. Thanks! I just ordered a couple of pots, jacks and a pair of TL071's from Mouser. They are all Op Amp's with the same pinout and pretty much the same function. the 4250 would require an additional resistor I believe and that may be a little difficult to squeeze on the board. My original op amp might be just fine, but I figured while I was ordering a couple of parts I could spend an extra .60 a piece on a couple of IC's.

OK so I am looking at the preamp and it has a 4250 IC in it instead of the 441CN. I started to wonder if the pre amp has been swapped. The only marking on the board is on the backside, reads 2001. Does that help anyone narrow down which preamp this is by chance? Also there is a resistor in the wire that goes from the 9V battery to the circuit board. I am going to check the schematics, but does anyone know if that is normal?
OK. Ive found a picture of another L2KE preamp and it looks like mine, so it appears to be the original preamp. As I said in an earlier post someone had changed the jack to a regular stereo connector. There are only 3 wires hooked up to that connector. The 113X connector according to what I ve seen has 4 wires running to it. So it appears that mine is missing a wire somewhere.
OK. So another question. How do you read the neck stamp? Mine reads 101 82. If that is October 1 1982 thats interesting, because the body says 12-22-81. Would a body have hung around for 10 months?
Found another place that had em for 0.49 and ordered two from them. Had to pay shipping but for a total of 4.50, they'll be at my door next week. Now I'll have a couple of different ones to try.
Thanks for posting that. The reason why I like the fiver I posted is the fact that the pup is in the "SR" position. The one on the GC site has the pup located in the L2000 bridge position. I'm looking for the G&L "Stingray".
The one on GC used is a later 6-bolt with the "Stingray" position.
Camera angles just make it look funky.
So here's a picture of my new to me 82 G&L L2000E. Sorry it's the only 1 I've taken and it's in one of the chairs in my office at work.
Guys I'm on the hunt for another G&L bass, basically because I want one! The used G&L market in Australia is almost non-existent so I'm looking at a few nice looking L2000s on Ishibashi, but what would be really cool is a later model El Toro (the one with the forearm and belly contour). They are very rare in Australia, I only know of one other that I've seen here.
If anyone has one they would like to move on shoot me a PM.
I'm still loving my L2000. I have some nice other basses but none of them get any play time these days.
I'm still to find another bass whose tone alone can replace my mid '90s L2000, both pickups on 100%, active circuit on (no treble boost), parallel mode with tone knobs up full. Any other bass just doesn't have the balls or presence in the mix. The biggest problem I have is any amp I play through has to have an input gain control, that I usually run at 9 o'clock!

Fun story, this. I've been watching LB100's from a distance for some time. Came across a great deal made even better when my brother was able to pick it up at Music Store Live and deliver it to me at a family gathering in NY (He and MSL are in VT - I'm in PA).
Wow. This is a solid instrument, and it sounds awesome. It is set up so nicely, I may wait a while before throwing some flats on it.
Either way, we'll be spending a lot of time together (the bass and I, not my brother and I).
