Since I know y'all are always looking for some more G&L Porn, I just traded my SB-1 for an L-1500. Here's my current stable of electrics. The 1500 and wunkay are a perfect match to cover everything I want!

That looks like an L-1500 Custom, which is much more rare - Congrats!

Haven't seen you around for a while, good to hear you buddy and what a lovely rig as well might I add.
I put my beasts through this newly acquired set up and could not be happier, clarity to let the bases sound like they should but power to mess about with other stuff!

I get router happy, and put a lovely MFD in, Tonally how would it differ to my other 2?
To me L1500 is a sweet spot funk machine
ASAT Is versatile but I have it set to go for all out power
Will it make the lil b'stard a monster Pbass type machine?
I take into would not lose much time compared to the Fidelitron?
Obviously it's not a G&L bass, but would it behave like a L1000?

@Cuzzie I've had a few G&Ls flow through my hands, but never a Wunkay, actually. Someday, I hope to. But I've read that people think they have a different tone due to the lack of preamp in the circuit. Maybe someone with direct experience can chime in.
I only mention it half in jest because that Filtertron is roughly in the same position and has a small-enough footprint that you could do it cleanly. You'd have to open up the control cavity to add the third pot and toggle switch, if you wanted to go "full Wunkay." But it's doable for sure...

So how is the L1500 working out for you? I've been interested in that model.

It is an absolute dream. Really light body, well balanced instrument and is in that Stingray mould for sure. I do not have much SR experience, but having this leaves me with no gas for a SR.
I was lucky to pick up a premier finish as well in mint condition.
To me it's a no brainer funk machine with great power that cuts through the mix.
I use my ASAT tuned down C# G# etc as I really like the full on meat it provides, and use a pick. For me I am looking for a helmet, Kings X type sound with it. Don't get me wrong it can be far more subtle than that.
Back to the L1500! Really bright sound so for me more Chilli peppers 'happier' funky songs. It has a certain shine and zing to the way it sings really cuts and makes me smile when I play it, the treble boost is really hit! I have no doubt though it could do pretty much anything.
If you see one get it, you won't regret it and the contour body is lovely.

Forgot to say also Brent that it handles finger, pick or slap really well
I'm in with my 1997 SB-2 in the infamous "Black Bowling Ball Finish." Easily the best bass that I have EVER played - and I have played A LOT.
