Just got a '91 or '92 L2000. Original owner, hardly played, and he lived less than 8 minutes from me. The preamp has no markings at all. Did a set-up with new strings. Very satisfied with the sound and feel.
Looks great! Congrats.

Hey, as long as this is popping up in my inbox:
For those of you who use basses with MFD pickups, I'm looking for a really high gain fuzz or distortion with lots of midrange. I like the Malekko B:Assmaster but the truth is, I prefer the sound of running my P pickup wide open and the MFD has such high output that the pedal doesn't provide a ton of boost in actual volume, which is necessary when you kick on this kind of distortion. For lower gain overdrive the Xotic BB Bass pre is great, though. Tons of volume on tap even when I'm running full up on the P pickup. The Idiot Box blower box is a candidate but I wish it had just a bit more saturation and sustain.
I asked on the effect forum but in case there are G&L users who get pinged on this thread who don't read there, I'm being slightly naughty and cross-posting. Sorry!
i only saw one USA M bass on there. There are 22 M2500 (all are new, I agree) and 38 M2000 (of which 10 are used) on reverb.com
Comparing to 8 JB5.
I sold my MIA M2500 after one year playing, letting it go was a very big mistake (the best neck ever for a fiver).
Hi guys,
I totally don't want to step in anything by posting this here, but I thought you may dig it. We're going to be cutting demos and stuff in a new studio named Live! At Leo's here at the G&L factory. Here's a teaser with an L-2000 through a BBE BMAX-T DI out:
Let me know what you think and/or what you'd like to see/hear.
Thanks, guys.
Dave

Would love samples of fretless L, M, and MJ series
talk ed into doing them????????????????
a 5 string asat bass with jb5 headstock
We talked about that but after he moved to Nashville he's just been too busy.
@2saddleslab has a neckdive answer on one of his asat'sI had a few made in the late '90s for UK at artist Cass Lewis. They were really neck divey but he didn't care; he wanted the L-2500 tone in the ASAT shape. With a JB-5 headstock it may be slightly worse.
Think people would go for it?
Hello! I would also love to see fretless demos, especially M and L series. Any possibilities of fretless Tribs? Would be so cool!
John

Whoa I remember that one. It's a stunner.+1 on the ASAT V..... I'm a fan of Leo View attachment 933629
There's a few people that have asked about a 5-string ASAT before. I'd like to see the option of a 4+1 headstock available on all the other 5-stringers that G&L make. I'd also like to see the L-1000 added back into the lineup along with the L-1005.
I remember an ASAT Strap Extender which I belive was basically a replacement 3-bolt neck plate with an arm extending out which holds the strap button. I can't use that with 6-bolt sans-plate setup. Have you seen something else out there?
