G&L Club Part 7

Make that a five pretty please :hyper:

I suppose whenever we get to that we'll do a 5er. First we'd have done an LB-100 5er. I think you guys already called it LB-105?

By the way, the L-1505 name. When we did the L-1500 we didn't really think ahead. Probably might have been better to have the 4 be L-1400 and the 5 be L-1500. But, L-1500 was done so I just went with L-1505. Not my best moment of creativity, but it got it done.

Oh! While we have you here, @Darth Invader, has there been any talk of resurrecting the El toro pickups, possibly for a variation SB-2/MJ or to reissue the El Toro?

Not seriously. The bull would require a lot of confidence, as we'd have to tool the injection molds for the covers and do a big run. So there's some risk there which makes it easy to just not go there. Way back, dealers just weren't going for it. 2k all day long but the Bulls weren't moving. Times and tastes change of course, but I think you can see where I'm coming from.

Has to please those that keep track of the beans. Molds are crazy expensive.

Exactly. After you've paid for molds, the runs have to be large so the cost per unit is realistic to put the instrument in the price that makes sense relative to other models in your line. If you screw up, that's capital and engineering time you could have put to some other project. So it's a calculated risk.

Yes, launch target being defined, possibly October. I will say it's 4-string, passive yet powerful, simple yet versatile, and is clearly comes from our Fender Avenue CLF element.
Ron here wants the wunkay and wunkay5 to be in the line.

If you say it's powerful, it must have an MFD pickup/pickups.
I think a full passive M2k with a VVT setup would be pretty cool.

That would be very interesting, although I got the feeling the PUs were voiced for the M series Preamp. Maybe Ron got what he wanted? :hyper::bassist:

Sounds an awful lot like a P or a PJ.

Nope and nope

Thank you for that, G&L. The bass world does not need another P or PJ clone. That is just so tired.

Sounds like G&L will be breaking new ground with this offering. I am really looking forward to it!

What a tease you are, Darth Invader! Worst than...oh, never mind!
