Hey, thanks!That looks great. 'Grats.
Is that an ebony board?
Yep, i hate it when that happens!
My guitarist actually found my L1500 for me, it's nice having good friends, even got his father in law to pick it up and drive it from Essex across to me in the West Country!
Bit of a gamble not playing it before, but was so worth it.
I know I like G&Ls, I know what neck I like and he had the serial number to check so I just pulled the trigger
@Stevehill i saw that one on eBay and thought that guy is having a laugh at that price, as you can get a brand new one for that! I nearly messaged him to tell him my thoughts to be helpful, but just left it, i suppose he'll find out the hard way!
I found my ASAT semi hollow in Cardiff whic was a complete stroke of luck and despite not enough funds in the bank etc and it essentially being completely unnecessary except for it was a bit of a Unicorn bass i knew it would not come up again. Probably slightly over the odds compared to US prices, but fair for UK prices and the seller is now a good mate.
You see G&L brings people together.....
Works great. I'm not sure how much different the focus is from the Uber. If I find another Uber close, I would buy it as wellI notice you play and Ampeg into a Genz 410, how does that work for the G&L?
I've got the chance of a focus 410 to go with my SVT5 and L2500
Ok cheers, I hear good stuff in general about Genz gear, I'm guessing the voicing would be similar to the uber cabs.Works great. I'm not sure how much different the focus is from the Uber. If I find another Uber close, I would buy it as well![]()
I'd have to think. I got this one used, promptly sold 2 other 410 cans. Hopefully you have the same experienceOk cheers, I hear good stuff in general about Genz gear, I'm guessing the voicing would be similar to the uber cabs.
Did the single coil mod on my l2500 today, very simple to follow the diagrams on bassesbyleo but thought I'd add some photos here to give it a bit of real world perspective.

Above is the old switch in situ and below is the new switch, prepared with links and earth wires, ready to have the pickup wires soldered on.

And here is the new switch with all wires attached

I'm so glad I did this as it sounds great and adds another tonal possibility to what is already an amazing bass. We have a new year gig tonight and can't wait to try it in a band situation.
G&L seem to have no stock of the on/on/on switch by the way, I got this one from eBay for about £7.00
I really like the K-switch on mine. And it's got me thinking -- has anyone done a pan pot between pickups, or a V-V configuration? Because with both pickups in single coil, you could easily do the jazz bass thing....
I would imagine a pan pot would be easy enough and a worthwhile mod, what do you mean by V-V?
Ok...should have worked that one outVolume, volume. One for each pup.
