The L1500/5 is by far I think the most underrated bass, I have my ASAT and my ASAT Semi hollow and I love them dearly, but I think I am not yet a good enough player for them, especially controlling the chime out of the semi when using a pick. Sometimes it sits in the mix nice, other times I have to fiddle with switches
The L1500 on the other hand I think actually makes me sound a better player than I am and its presence is just right. It knows it can rip your face off, but it does not always choose to. The kind of lady you can take home to Momma as she looks purty, but momma would disapprove of what goes on behind closed doors.
The only time I think I need to tweak it is rolling off the treble (I have done the Mod) for a real dub sound, or turn up the volume.

I first discovered the 1505 in a GC in Lynnwood, WA. I was noodling around on a Stingray 5'er and saw this beautiful trans red 1505 with an ebony board and mandolin frets. I plugged it in and it blew my mind how much better it was than the Ray. More output, massive and aggressive sound, and a neck that was a dream to play. It's about the only bass I really regret getting rid of.

Congrats, 68Goldfish! And keep checking G&L's facebook page. That is not a real time feed, they'll often post basses well over a week after they've shipped it. You'll probably see yours pop up there just a day or two before the bass gets to you.
Speaking of my old bass. Does anyone know if G&L offers frets smaller than the vintage ones for their basses?
It's an amazing bass, but unlike you Cuzzie, I definitely feel I'm not good enough for it yet.
I do agree that its presence is extremely well balanced. Never overbearing but just... right there.
You're most probably way too modest here but I think I see what you mean: it sounds good enough in itself to make the player sound good.
According to their price list, it's either the default medium jumbo frets or the smaller vintage frets for a small upcharge.
I know better than to suggest that that's all they offer (as soon as I say that, someone would point to some bass from 1982 with smaller frets - LOL), but chances are that's a good assumption...
Thank you for the link, i already listened those sound samples, tbh i'm not sure if this be very useful but if i put a blend knob i will have a useless switch, i thought that will be a good choice to put a inner-outer selector...
@RocketMusic I think at one point I asked a dealer to call about it and G&L at the time said they could do whatever frets. That might have changed now that they offer the vintage frets.
I've got money burning a hole in my pocket. Trying to figure out which bass I'm going with. A nice 1505 might not be a bad idea.

I think you mean a "stacked" pot.
I very much doubt that you would find the correct resistance values and pot tapers, the treble pot is 250KA (audio taper), the bass is 1MC (reverse audio taper).
You might be able to modify a 250KA dual stacked pot by swapping out one wafer for a 1MC if you can find pots that use the same pattern wafer and can be dismantled. Success is not guaranteed, you may end up with a heap of scrap pots!

I don't know of a way of wiring a blend without using 2 pots so that would mean you would need 3 stacked pots with 2 spindles. They may exist but I have never seen one.
You could use a stacked pot as 2 separate volumes (like a Jazz Bass).
Or a stacked 250kA pot for volume and treble and a normal blend pot.

Is the mid scooped sound when using one pickup in series other in single or parallel normal?
I agree, I don't like 2 volume pots as in a Jazz bass for live use (in a studio they are fine). Stacked Treble and Volume would as you say be a bit weird but I am sure you could get used to it if you had to.2 separate volumes will be a bit hard to use, but also a stacked volume/treble will be weird
I don't know if the mid scoop is normal, I have never tried that pickup combination.
I have done the single coil mod on my L-2500. I spent a lot of time trying inners then outers, then inners, then outers, then ..... and finally settled on outers.
