G&L Club Part 7

Guys, I 'm in need of some help. I have the opportunity to buy an M 2500 USA in like new condition. The only problem is, and it could be a big one is, I quote from the seller" The lowest the action will go is 0.90 which is still on the low side. But if you want to go way low, it would take a bit if a mod. Should I be nervous or what? Thanks in advance to all my G&L brothers and sisters. Joe.

I'd avoid that one. Like the Plague. Either the seller is revealing a serious problem....or less likely, the bass is okay but the seller doesn't know what he's talking about. Either scenario is a DQ for me.

Why gamble? I'd rather buy off ebay and have a seller misrepresent an item, for which I'll get a guaranteed refund. But when a seller openly states that a "mod" may be needed to make neck adjustments, there is little chance for a refund, even on ebay. Even tougher buying from anywhere else.

And I'm sure you know this, but the warranty is only ever applicable for the original owner. Not transferable, no matter what a seller may infer. If the neck is shot the solution is....unpleasant.

Thanks Templar. I kinda thought that. This seller is not a private dealer, but what I thought is a very well known bass shop. Thanks again so much.

Just wanted to show off my awesome new JB-5. Plays and sounds great. It also weighs a very comfortable 7.3 pounds!

G&L owners, i need your help... I have a L-2500 (U.S.A. made) and i recently added a second switch, now i have series-parallel-single coil for each pickup. It's outer coils selected in single coil mode, can i add another switch to select inner - outer coils? is there a diagram for this kind of connection? Also when i use one pickup in series another in parallel or single it sounds a bit mid scooped, is it a normal behaviour?

I also want to add a blend control but i couldn't find how to do it, i think i can add a shelved pot for bass & treble but does it exist with correct ohms?
