You have to wait and see what tuners your bass comes with. They usually come with the short keys but I have a 2013 model which came with the long keys. No idea if that's a permanent change. Sometimes they come with Hipshot tuners instead of G&L/Schallers.

I'm refinishing my M2000 Tribute because it got damaged. Here's how the headstock looks so far, before clear coat:

I'll be shooting color on the body and shooting clear on all of it tomorrow afternoon.

G&L tribute L-2000. I was looking for my second bass, looked at MIM Fenders, SBMM Ray34 (and I almost ended up with one) and Warwick but when I came across G&L's masterpiece L-2000 design (even though mine is a tribute series) there was no going back, exactly what I was looking for, sure, a 24 frets option would have suit me better, but I adapted pretty well to 21 frets, tone wise... A beast! highly recommended!

You could taken that money and have Status Graphite make you a graphite neck. They do G&L.

Just a quick heads up. I played this bass at my local GC on Friday. It's in fantastic shape. I am tempted to rescue it before someone beats it around too much, but the price seems a bit high. Anyway, it played and sounded great. Anyone have an idea what a realistic price would be? I am thinking that $750 would be more like it.

GC says it's already been sold. Price-wise, $850 is a bit high especially if there's sales tax added, but it's not a crazy Ebay dreamer price. It looks to be in excellent condition. Really it comes down to how much you like it and if you intend to keep it or flip it. The Lynx is rare and they don't show up very often. Make them an offer, maybe they'll take it.
