G&L Club Part 7

They followed the Fallout guitar with a Tribute version pretty quickly. Maybe we'll get lucky.

Maybe so. They haven't done a Tribute Jazz yet and that's been out a while. The guitar market is a different thing, though. I'd be surprised if they didn't do the Tribute Fallout to keep up with demand. I don't see the bass market demanding that much volume. But like I said, who knows? That would be pretty cool if they did a Tribute Kiloton (5). I'd probably buy one, too!

Well, thanks to 68Goldfish I know what to expect if I get USA tuners for my Tribute. The pictures aren't great, but you can get an idea of the differences. It looks like there won't be much of the old mounting holes visible, which is good. The kinda crappy part is that all new mounting holes will have to be drilled. I'm not sure I want to do that, but I might pay a tech to do it.

You can do it. Carpe diem.

I drill holes like that with a Dremel tool and a drill bit that I've put a bit of tape around to indicate the depth I want to go. It's much harder with a hand drill and near-impossible with a drill press. Dremel's your friend for this job.

BTW, it's great that you don't have to replace the ferrules.

Where is a good place to order a G & L ?........ Im in love with the Kiloton 5 and have to get one !!!!!!!

Head over to The Bass Place in Tempe. They may not have a Kiloton yet, but they are a G&L dealer and can order you whatever you like. Otherwise, Rocket Music (look for their forum on TB) seems to order a lot of custom G&Ls.
