Hey all. Tried the strings forum but no response. I want to try tapewounds on my Kiloton Fretless. I like the looks of the LaBella blacks (the bass is black) but hear that the whites are brighter and that appeals to me.

Anyone have tapes on a G&L with MFDs? Especially a Fretless? What sounds good?

Yep I used the white tapes on my L2500.
Loved the tone. I have white tapes on 2 other basses so I changed the L2500 to ghs flats a couple gigs ago and digging them right now.
I must say that when I first got the L2500 I strung it with EB Cobalt rounds .. Whoo Doggie talk about over the top output!!!

Been lurking in the classifieds (not in the market for anything) and noticed that up to Page 20 (and possibly even further), there haven't been any M series basses for sale (US or Tributes). Are they so good that people are willing to keep them en masse? Or are they just still rare?

Have a brand new LB-100 but just can't adjust to the wide neck... wondering if anyone would want to trade a 4 string JB with me

I have TI Jazz flats on my fretless L1500 which is full-time passive--so not unlike the Kiloton. Really lovely mid-centric bite to each note, and of course sweet under the hands.

In the pic are the cobalts. I had the standard white tapes on it. Tapes are my Fretless favorite. I used to love the LaBella black tapes, but I was sold on the white tapes once I tried them. I have gold white tapes on my Dano Longhorn. I have white standards on my Goya Double P, and had white tapes on my Squier VMPV for 2 years. I use the Black tapes on my Michael Kelly ABG Fretless.

Nice bass! What exactly is the string spacing at the nut. 1.75, 1.65 or something else all together?

G&L is really stepping it up lately, now offering block inlays and neck binding, and the Kiliton 5....man it's a toss-up between that and the SR5...!!!
