i'm gonna use the moog mf drive to kinda boost the LB100 into L2000 territory
and once again, i could not be happier with the ti jazz flats, after years of playing almost dead rounds it's so nice to have a consistent and reliable mid heavy tone with such ease of play

these guys are cool about answering questions and helping you out, but i've never had a neck problem with a new G&L
i snapped the truss rod on an ebay 94 LB100 and within 2 weeks i had a boutique quality replacement neck, i just had to drive to fullerton to get it

I'm writing with a request for SB-2 owners (either USA or Tribute) who play flats. If you have a recording of yourself on the bass with flats in the context of playing with others, either a live show or a record, I'd love to hear it. I've found some demos online but it's just someone playing by themselves. I'm especially interested in the front pickup soloed, but other settings are fine too.

Haven't owned a 5 string since I parted with my Modulus many moons ago. Bad decision. I'm still hoping to replace it some day but in the meantime I'd heard so many good things about G&Ls, and being a long time Fender Bass guy, I thought I'd give one a shot. Got lucky right out of the box and located an L2500 Tribute from a dealer with a G&L hardshell case at a great price. I liked the look as well so I decided to make it mine. Had it for about 2 1/2 months now.
Between reacquainting my fingers with a fiver again, nailing some amp settings and a good setup, and fussing over what strings to finally decide on I overlooked checking out electronics and some posts here cued me into doing just that. Damned if my neck pickup isn't firing in the "both" setting. I had an inkling that bridge only and both sounded a little too much alike but I was so busy with the rest and just playing it that 'til today I never bothered to check it out.
So.......I guess I have a little exploration and some rewiring to do. Anyway, here's the new bass.

I bought an L-2500 Tribute that had sat in a store room for a few years, one of the switches was not working correctly (can't remember which). I ran a drop of switch cleaner down the switch toggle and exercised the switch for a couple of minutes and haven't had any more bother with it.
My guess is that the silver contacts in the switch had oxidised with not being used.
Not sure if this is allowed, please let me know if it's not and I'll delete!
