1999 SB-2, swamp ash, 9.25 lbs (4.2 kgs).
1990 ASAT Bass Signature fretless (solid), swamp ash, 11 lbs (5.0 kgs)
1997 L2500 Custom, ash top over alder, 10.1 lbs (4.6 kgs)
None is a concern for my back, so far so good.

Interesting how the weights vary as much as they do.
My PBass is right at 9lbs and my Jazz is 9lbs 3ozs. Both are modified Classic Vibes with basswood bodies.
The L2500 is 9lbs 12ozs but with a 5 string neck on an ash body I would expect it weigh a bit more.
None hit the 10lb limit and none are as heavy as a '70s Les Paul I once owned that went close to 12lbs so I can live with any of them but that's not to say after a 4 hour gig or a long jam session my back isn't feeling it.

I had a Gibson EDS-1275 for a while that was just shy of 15 lbs. Everything else has been pretty manageable after having played that for a while.

Used FRETLESS L1000 ALERT!!!! I was just broiwsing GC used gear and saw this "mislabled" G&L. Says its a JB4. Its not. Thew picture clearly shows a very very early fretless L1000 in blue. So early in fact it has the fender lawsuit headstock!!!!! check it out!!

Oh, dang! That's in Albuquerque... I haven't been to that store for months, but it's only 5 minutes from my office.

On the subject of 90s-vintage weights, from my stable:
'92 L-2000: 9.5 lbs
'96 SB-2: 9.2 lbs
Both are swamp ash, well-balanced and comfortable to play.

If anyone has a light weight G&L 5 string (NOT an L2500, already got one) and is interested in trading for a light weight (8.3 lbs) M2000 in mind condition, let me know! I'd consider an M2500, MJ-5, JB-5. Must be around 8lbs though. I'm a weight weenie.
