A watched pot never boils. Dont know how many you've built, but I find it best to just pretend you're not paying attention! Then time flies...
The other good thing to do with G&L's is to order them when you have no money. That way, you don't want them to come in because you can't pay for them... and once they do come it... you find a way!

Lol... Yeah... I'll bet the last thing that you wanted was a call to come in and pick up your new G&L! My last one, when they called, I was like, I'm backpacking across Europe, I'll see you when I get back.
My Kiloton 5 took around 8 weeks. I know the wait is agonizing but, believe me it’s well worth it!

Slightly off topic....the "eye gouger" headstock gets some real grief from time to time. I may be in the minority but for a Fender style 4 inline headstock I like it the best out of the Fenders, Sadowskies, Lulls etc.

I really wish the would do 4+1 on an L2500 as an option....or better still offer the JB or Kiloton 5 neck on an L2500. Maybe one day....

I like the eye gouger too. It’s distinctive. But the 4+1 headstocks—they’re so big. I’ve had a couple and greatly prefer the 3+2, which puts me in the minority here!
I should’ve added that my dislike is based on the early L-2500 & 5500 4+1 headstocks.
Yeah the early L2500 HS was bulky, but the newer Kiloton 5 and J5 necks have a slimmed down version that I think looks cool. I know the 3+2 is practical but to me it's ugly.

I have the Bechtold book. At the time it was published (mid-90's? I'm going by memory here, so ...FWIW) there was precious little info on G&L available, so it filled a unique niche. Today, between this forum, Guitarsbyleo, the George book etc., it's a little easier to find info on the history of G&L. It's a cool item if you're a collector, and probably has some unique info as well. Paul was going to do a version 2, and even collected some sponsors at one point, but I don't know that it ever happened.
I'm gunna be reasonable and say... BUY BOTH! They are both fantastic... FULL STOP!
Three of my five strings are 4+1 so to me my L-2500 stands out. I have no problem with it being 3+2 and the fact that it's a matching cherryburst only makes it sexier.
