Are those TI flats on there?Three of my five strings are 4+1 so to me my L-2500 stands out. I have no problem with it being 3+2 and the fact that it's a matching cherryburst only makes it sexier.

Ugh, no, I'm one of those few who just don't like them. I really dislike the loose feel, so no matter how good the tone might be I won't be comfortable playing them. The TB'er I bought my Precision V from put them on before selling me the bass and I gave them about a month or so and I just couldn't stand them.
The previous owner of my L-2500 had TI's on it and not only did I not like the feel, I also didn't like how they sounded on this bass. These are Chromes. I've used them before and knew I liked the stiffer feel and I also love how they sound on this bass.

They most certainly are low tension, seems like people either love them or hate them. I try them on all my basses, most times they stay on, sometimes they don't. I really like them on the 1505, complements the inherent dark aggression of that particular instrument.
I've used my Lb-100 on five different gigs with different scenarios and setups since I got it almost two weeks ago. Full out amplified with my original band or through in-ears at a lounge playing pop stuff, it's perfect! And of course it sounded beautiful with a pure blues band. I can't get enough of it. Just anazing all the way through. The pickup is great too! I can't imagine ever changing it. I'm even putting my 68 P away for a while. This thing is awesome!!!

Anyone playing flats on an SB-2?
If so, what brand/model are you playing and what do you like about them on the SB-2?
I just ordered a set of GHS Precision Flats and was going to put them on a Jazz but I may try them on my SB-2. I tried a set of Labella DTF on the SB-2 but they just killed the character of the bass, so they're on the string pile now.

Oh man, Ive seen your 2500 before, and regardless of 3+2 headstock it just smokes. I am a sucker for cherry burst too.
The 84 L2k neck treatment is done, Jimmy Coppolo is a miracle worker, no buzz, clearer tone, and way better action

I love the markerless look. The previous owner had an issue with the original neck, which was rosewood, and sent the bass back to the factory to be replaced. So he requested a markerless maple neck with matching headstock. And, while they had it, he also had them install the K-mod.
I think he made some d**m good decisions!
I may be misleaded with the picture, but the Chromes I have on 5 basses have blue silk.
My own preference: Chromes with single coil PUs (SB2 and Fenders) and GHS Precision flats with MFD humbuckers (L2500 and ASAT Bass fretless).

So I’ve been fortunate enough to purchase several new G&L Basses in the past few weeks and took two of them to my rock gig tonight. I brought my new JB5 and L2000 and used the JB5 on the first two sets and the L2K on the third set. I ran them through my Fender Bassman 100T and Bassman Neo 410 and they were delicious.
The JB5 growled and thundered and I felt like I have been playing that bass for decades. I loved it so much that I really had to force myself to switch to the L2K on the last set but I did and what a sweetheart this bass is. It was a little hot on the first tune but I forgot about that preamp at first. Really thick and funky and so easy to play.
The basses were both stand outs tonight in tone, playability and looks. You know your on the right track when the guitar player in the band (who just happens to be BassMonster Keith Horne) tells you how good the Basses sounded. Win win win!

Sorry, guys. Yes, the strings in the pictures are the TI Jazz Flats the previous owner had on it. I took these pictures soon after buying it. I have Chromes on it now (well, I put them on about a year ago).

It's a beauty!!! The redburst is closer to the stock picture I originally posted. It's not as dark and contrasting as my blueburst. This picture really isn't doing it justice.
