G&L Club Part 7

I've come close to pulling the trigger on that rig a few times, but something else always seems to jump in front of it. Last month I just finished a V4b w/212, Heritage SVT w/ Heritage SVT810, and Strategy 88 w/ PH412, so other than a Traynor and Ashdown, the Fender stuff is all that's left for me to try.

How are the cabs? Loose and vintage or tight and punchy?

I really liked the Bassman Pro stuff but it seemed short lived

When you come to pick up your new G&L build, you can try mine out. I push 2 fender 410's with my SVT4-PRO, feel free to bring any head you'd like to try them with. They give as close the 8x10 fridge feel and sound (and yes I mean feel... stand in front of them :woot:) as I've felt, with the added bonus giving me the ability to bring less if I need to - just leave one cab at home for some kick but 4x10 sound instead of 8x10. Another nicety is I can split the cabs and run different sound to each altogether via my AB/Y pedal to SVT & Rumble head if I choose/ need to.
In my opinion, the 10's give the perfect blend of punch with a nice vintage rounded bottom end. You don't have the mud of some of the 12" or larger drivers or the super highs of smaller 8 inchers. For me, the 8 10" drivers seem to offer the most range without needed to add other cabs with different size drivers to compensate for the lack or abundance of highs or lows. Of course, YMMV :thumbsup:

Sweet! Fender stuff tends to change around with the times a lot, so usually whatever I like is gone before I make up my mind! As you know, I'm so bloody saturated with cabs and amps right now, but I'll never be done, so yes I'd love to run the Strategy 88 and Heritage SVT through them.

I do like to blonde ones with the blood cloth fronts. The'd be nice in my ball room for when entertaining high society. The fancy, ritz types. In four days, I'll have my long lost head back!

Looking forward to the trip North for the new G&L.

As it sits now, I don't see myself using the Heritage 810, but I did want it because it matched the SVT head. When the Kiloton comes in, I'll try it wit that cab and see what I think. Until then, I'm married to the PH412!

I'm not sure... I'm not very dialed into the Tribute series, so it wouldn't be a shock for that to come and go without me ever knowing about it.

I did hear some rumblings about a shortscale something or other coming out in the Tribute line. I'm not sure of any details beyond that, but a shortscale Tribute bass is imminent.

Just had a thought ... if someone at G&L is actually reading my mind after all, how about a Tribute Bass VI, or USA and/or Custom Shop offering for that matter. I wouldn't think twice about dropping that cash. Just in case it were to miraculously come true, you heard it here first ;)
