G&L Club Part 7

Hello fellow G&L owners,

I am really not a jazz bass fan hence I just listed my 3 weeks old JB4 in the classified and ordered an LB-100.

If you want a JB-4, save yourself some time and money! Thanks for watching.

Hey @armyadarkness , remember a few pages back when I was lamenting about wanting a blend knob? Looks like G&L does offer it. Check out the specs on this guys M2500 For Sale - 2013 Trans-White G&L M2500 USA
The M series is an unusual animal... Man for a simple company, G&L sure can get technical! 95% of the G&L bass info on the internet, is in this thread!

I'm certainly not the most qualified to answer this, but the M is 100% active, so I wonder if the blend setup would work on an L?

Where is the original pick of the Trib? I can't find it, and for some odd reason, I like white basses lol. It'd be easier to find the Grail then a pic of a G&L in this thread! lol... I went back several pages and still can't find it.

lOL. Thanks! Super cool bass. I never had a bound bass. I'll admit that I've been a USA snob for several years now, but I'd pull the trigger on a G&L Trib in a second, especially one like that! Looks born to play punk! Just my style.
I love the Tribs for trying a different style of bass that will be pretty close to USA version. I picked up a Trib L2K before moving up to a USA. I would also be less apprehensive about modding a Trib, like putting a black Tele bass style PG on this white M2K.

Recently picked up a 92-93 G&L L5000 from a fellow TB'er ready to get her setup and sent out for a healthy diet of gigs. I've been on the hunt for a decent G&L Jazz 5 to add to the stable.

Very nice! I rock an L-5000 as well, such a fun and easy bass to play. And it looks like you now have my old trans green L-5500! That one was a smooth player.

There are no G&L basses by me to try at all, which is the only reason why I don't have a Trib. I've heard outstanding things about them, largely from the "non G&L" community...

I don't even have any USA production models, such as the Guitar Center jobs... but again, only because once I'm spending over $1k and ordering something, I might as well just get exactly what I want... so I spend a little more and then I can get my neck, frets, and color too.

I've always been scared to buy a non USA Fender... although one of my favorites that I own is a pristine 84 Jazz Special from Japan... but I am very hard on them... playing outdoors in January in Jersey... I'm sure it's just my ocd, but I found what works so I don't break it!

I wouldn't be worried about a non USA G&L though.

They have a clear orange Trib L2000 that has my name on it!

G&L MAKES A 5 STRING P STYLE?!?!?!? Why didn't I know this!!?!?!??!?!?!?!?! I blame the poor sales skills of @armyadarkness for this!

I guess my GAS is out of remission!
My commission! It's gone! Lol... I had no idea! I've only been a G&L boy since 2013, and judging by the weird looking pick up and "Highly sought after in this thread" black hardware, I'd say that Rasberry Beret from Prince was the number one hit on the radio when that bass was made.

Man why can't you 5 string guys keep your advanced skills out of here? Your chocolate is in my peanut butter!!!! Lol.
