I have no idea how I'm going to bring this up for discussion at home.

I had a natural L2K tribute hanging on my wall for a few months, and then replaced it with a tobacco burst Sire V7. Wifey didn't notice that it was a different bass. That's when I learned that I can buy as many as I want as long as only the same number remain visible

Well, I have 23. (That's 22 more than when I joined TalkBass.) For what it's worth, my M2500 is the bass I use for modern or funk charts in my big band. It's the upright otherwise. I think the M suits jazz work very well.

Just hit 50.....

Well, when you're married to a strong woman like Grace Hopper, it's better to be up front and discuss things than to follow her advice .....

Actually, it doesn't matter who you're married to. It is best to discuss purchases anyway. Yeah, I've snuck a few in and managed to remain married, but that's not really the best approach.

@RocketMusic Has a beautiful red flake Tom Hamilton model but it's a little pricey for me. Figured I would have better luck with affordability on the used market

Did you ship it out to a TB'r in Seattle? I've had the L5500 for about a year and I love it.
Love the L5000! It's got a sound all own.

It was a drunk eBay bid that brought it to me from the original owner. I then sold it to a music shop in Milwaukee, and the dude in Seattle bought it from there if memory serves. The guy I got it from said he used it on a couple of sessions in Nashville with Will Ray, so that's kinda cool.

The L-5000 is definitely it's own beast. There's a low-mid component to its tone that I haven't found in any other MFD pickup. It bothers me when I play it alone, but in a band context it sounds perfect.

Anyone put a chrome bridge and pickup cover on their LB-100? I like using them and have been considering it.

You wouldn't get a stock Fender bridge cover to fit without going custom, but...

I saw that one and have a watch on it. He's had it up for 3 weeks, I'll see if the price comes down a bit. Or I'll wait for the new 5 string G&L P style to come out. Either way I'll have another sweet addition to my family

Oh I'm not advocating deception!

I'm lucky enough to have a wife that views us both as equals when it comes to spending decisions. We don't need the other's permission to buy anything. That said, we discuss any large purchases with each other ($500+) to avoid dredging the savings too deep

For the last 10 years I have had two full stack Mark bass rigs in my living room. Over the last 3 weeks I have acquired an SVT Full stack, a V4B half stack, and a Mesa Srategy 88 full stack. My girl is getting suspicious...

My wife gives me the dreaded stank eye so I just keep the info on the gear to a minimum.

A cool aspect to the questions about the gear is she will look in my studio and tell me somethings up. I just look at her and go "that old thing". She looks at me puzzled and walks away.

All that being said I never spend bill money on gear. If I buy gear the money has to come from somewhere else and that helps to keep the harmony.

I'm in a band with my better half. So no hiding gear. She also has forbade me to let go of 2 of my basses. G&L L2500 sparkle. And a 5 String Dolphin.

So concerning the LB-105 this has my interest piqued. My LB-100 is my desert island Bass. I wonder if they'll make an Empress version?

I have found that look alike basses slip under the radar quite well. I always have 2 basses hanging on the side of my rig. One side either has an L2K or L1505, both with black bodies and maple fretboarded. The other side has either the T-40 or Squier MF P, both white bodies, black PG and maple fretboard.

Fear not on the 5-string P bass! I've heard rumblings that a 5-string version of the LB-100 is in development. Details are scarce, but that should happen sometime this year.

No doubt, they'll pick a headstock configuration (3+2 or 4+1) that half of you will love and half of you will hate. LOL

I feel that last comment is aimed at me! And with fair reason
C'mon G&L...offer an L2500 with Kiloton 5 neck and you might get this scrooge to open his miserly wallet!
