Yes I've been slacking off lately. SLACKING!It may tiny love, but that's more than made up for in sheer volume of posts.
Hell, just from you alone I see about 3K threads per day about the Kiloton!![]()

You'll get few opinions on this here. I was in your exact shoes... possibly along with @jmlee ? I couldn't get my exact tone out of the SB2 unless the planets were aligned, so I tried the LB100 and it's just perfect for me.
I've now been using LB100's for the last 3 years and I play punk/ metal/ alt/ rock. I like a very bright punchy "pick sound" although I play finger style.
Obviously, I'd say do it! But... the SB2 has been getting a lot of love "hear" lately, so you'll get a few giving you some suggestions about how to zero it in maybe? Either way, an SB2T might go quick here in the classy's.
Here's something, though. I put a G&L SB-1 pickup into an old Yamaha B-300 I had here at the house and, you know what, it sounds much better—but not like an SB.
Lol... I doubt that I've ever heard anyone on TB so close to my own tone requirements. I don't recall us ever discussing it, but piano tone is always what I shoot/ shot for, and primarily why the SB didn't work for me.the sb-2 is a weird one, it always brought the goods in the studio, live indoors, and live outdoors, but just playing in my house it always sounded not quite right unless it had long in the tooth hi beams(i really wanted to sound like a piano at the time), for me it was definitely a great band mix bass, i just was too fussy with it around the house for some reason
eventually i had to get rid of it, because when i turned 43 jazz width necks suddenly became kind of uncomfortable and more difficult for me to play
therefore i'm rocking the 84 L2000 and 84 LB1000, because of their chunkier necks and pleasing house and live tones

In my case, I love my Tribute SB-2 with a tone mod—but really only after I put some Chromes on it and had a chance to play it out with other humans making noise. I've not done a show with it yet, but it speaks very, very well in rehearsal with a firmness and a sort of bite that I enjoy. I'm still waiting for my La Bella Deep Talkin' flats to arrive for the new LB100, but as an experiment I'm going to put one of my leftover sets of Chromes on it (instead of the stock D-Addario XLs) to do a bit of an A/B at least here at home to see if there's any sort of chalk and cheese distinction with same strings on both. I'll report back on my experience.

Yes I'm just surprised that several people would've ordered them, I was more getting the impression that they were being removed from SB2's.
How cool would it be if G&L sold all of it's stuff like Warmoth?
Even though I was done with SB's for a while, I would've if it wasn't for the Ibanez neck on it.Also, @armyadarkness you need this and it's on clearance!

Doesn't even have to be all of it... they could offer just 1 basic maple FB and 1 rosewood (or some CITES safe equivalent) FB for each model. How cool would it be if G&L sold all of it's stuff like Warmoth?
Just drop off your Ampeg stuff up this way and I'll hold on to it for youI desperately NEED room now, but after I sell those two rigs, then I'll build another Kilo and an L2000. My living room is tiny and it literally has 20 speakers in it now.
I'm arguing with a guy on CL right now because he insists that it should have black cloth on it... So, stay tuned. I'd rather give it to you then to sell it to a turd handler like this tool.Just drop off your Ampeg stuff up this way and I'll hold on to it for you![]()

a turd handler like this tool
Tell him that it's a super rare special edition that was commissioned by Gene Simmons himself and that it's worth at least 10 grand but since he's a local Jersey boy, you'll do him a solid and sell it to him for $900, no questions asked.I'm arguing with a guy on CL right now because he insists that it should have black cloth on it...
