I figured out what the random pop was on my LB100. The pickups wiggle a bit. The sound was them wiggling if I play right over the pickups
Love the red L2500! I have a redburst with ivory binding and it has to be the best looking bass I've owned.

Yeah, Ken advised against that as well. I really want to appreciate the bass for what it is, and let it do what it does well. I didn't play it today and kind of missed it.Oh, don't do that. The pickups and pre are matched in that instrument.

straight-up trade for those flat-tops? Good luck!
Just curious - the JB-2 come from GC used/online by any chance? My
local GC had a trans-black US JB-2 that was a joy to play and I've
been fighting off GAS pains sinceNice bass in any event!
Oh my gosh that's luscious.Giving TBers first shot from my G&L collection before listing on Reverb.

I gotta say, I think less of you for selling that. I hope everything is okay![]()

That's a super-bright string with a character all it's own. It's one you have to try for yourselfSo, I need to put a new set of strings on my tribute LB100. One of the strings that' currently installed must have a slipping core. It keeps dropping pitch like crazy.
Anyway, I'm thinking Ernie Ball Super Slinky Cobalts. I'm a round wound guy.
Thoughts?
Good to know. I've not tried them before. I've used the regular super slinky before though on another bass. That's a super-bright string with a character all it's own. It's one you have to try for yourself![]()
I like how Ernie Ball Strings sound with a P-style bass, but my favorite roundwound string for a P-Bass is Rotosound. The Swing Bass 66's have great top-end with a little bit of clanginess the sounds awesome, imo. Dial the tone knob back a bit to temper some of it, but it still allows the bass to cut through nicely. So, I need to put a new set of strings on my tribute LB100.
