For me, buying an instrument nearly 40 years old I expect a certain amount of finish wear. That means someone loved this bass & played the snot out of it

as long as its just finish & not abuse, big cracks or radical mods I’m OK with that.

after I get this bass I’ll see how she plays & how comfortable I am on it. That evaluation process may take 6 months or so; then I’ll decide if I want to refinish it or keep its roadworn state.

I got a text notification this morning that the post office tried to deliver this morning; but being Saturday- there’s nobody there at work.

I should get it on Monday.

PIX will have to wait until then.

Well folks the Eagle has Landed.

She's got some significant finish wear, but no cracks or ugly mods. So far just at home practice but I like it so far.
more in depth review with better pix later after I've had some play time on her.
Most of my basses are wearing flats...thinking of leaving this one setting this one up for rounds.

I have never seen one once it left the assembly line!! The Kahler trem is fun.
And a lefty not many, maybe just a handful made!

Those bodies were a huge PITA to shape, and finish sand and polish.

I'm having fun with it so far! The trem is a full floater so that is cool.I wasn't sure if it would be. Can go up or down in pitch, like a shred guitar, so that's awesome!

I have a 2001 L2000 and the bullet truss rod nut is beginng to wear. I need to get a replacement but the G&L one is pretty hard to come by in the UK. Would anyone know if a standard Fender one would still fit????
