Thanks for the kind words. Sadly, all of the 7 ASAT basses I've owned have gone on to new owners. They are amazing basses but alas, I returned to my slab roots.

I have almost bought a couple different Interceptors, but both of them had jacked up necks on them. I keep looking when I have the cash to spend so I will get one. Just don't know when. Totally cool basses! Congrats on yours!
Speaking of Intersceptors....
Back around 2004, Flynn Bros in Chicago listed two brand new NOS Intersceptors on ebay that they acquired when buying out the inventory of a mom 'n pop store. Both basses had two-tone paint jobs. One was black and cream, the other (IFICR) had metallic paint. I seem to recall the metallic one as having something like Burgundy Mist-ish and maybe gold metallic?** They were priced at $800 @...BIN. Tempted to snag them both, but decided $800 was too much at the time. A rare opportunity to snag a couple uber-cool basses that any G&L nut would love to have. Looking back....shoulda at least grabbed that metallic one!
** Don't quote me on the exact color scheme of the of one with the two-tone metallic paint job, could have been two other metallic colors, the memory of it is fading a bit.

Does anyone know if the two-tone finished Intersceptors could have been ordered with any two colors?.....or were only specific color schemes offered then?
Used to own this one. Maple body & heavy. I like this headstock but prefer the El Toro body.
I've been playing my LB-100 nonstop since I got it. I'm SO glad that I took the plunge into the G&L world. I'll never buy another brand!

I'm hoping someone here can help me. I recently picked up an L2500. It seems to need a truss rod adjustment and either the nut (socket?) is stripped or I can't figure out what size allen wrench to use. Trying to find out what size wrench I came across a chart saying before 2006 it's 1/8" and 2006 and up it's 4mm.
So I figure I should look up the year - the guy who sold it to me said it was a 2007 - but the 4mm doesn't come close to fitting and the 1/8" spins (or at least slips a lot). But when I go to look up the year it says that the decals on the head were only used in 2016! The headstock decal says CLF46130, and I don't think it's a replacement because it's a matching headstock!
I am so lost! Any help would be appreciated!

I never knew this model ever existed. Very nice, the bevel on the upper bass bout really sets it apart. Congrats!
OK so the strings on my new to me L2000 are some brand of S/S round wounds, no silk showing on either end. Gnarly tone but after many years of flats on most everything I'm squeeking like a roomful of mice.
I'm thinking of trying DR Pure Blues...any experience with these on an L series bass?

I really like the DR brand strings however they, as a rule don't fit my 2500 series Tribute models. The thick part of the string extends into the headstock string retainer and binds. You may not experience this with your 2000 due to the different headstock design. I'm using GHS Bass Boomers and they fit well. I'm attaching a photo so you may compare to your bass' headstock design and string retainer location.
I've got Pure Blues on my US L2500 and they sound great! Warm and punchy, and comfortable under the hands. They're a terrific match for the instrument for my uses: classic rock, blues, jazz, some R&B.
Sparkle wears DR Pure blues.
They feel great and being round core they are very supple, feel soft and low tension.
Next to EB Cobalt flats the Blues are the best sonic fit.
Bright but not too much so, growly upper mids, solid lows.
Coming from flats you might try pressure rounds or ground wounds
GHS of both varieties work well.
Pure Blues? I think Sparkle seems like the sexy kind of gal that would wear a sexy sounding string, like Slinkys.

Anyways, another vote for Dr Blues. I have mostly DR's on my G&L fretted/fretless pairs. Dr Blues, Sunbeams and nickel Lo Riders pretty much in order of preference. I've swapped them around all the models. One pair sports TI Powerbass and IMO the DR's are right up there with them for a lot less up-front scratch although nothing endures the ravages of bass time like TI's. For less sparkle a second nod for Pressurewounds.

I'll try to measure mine this evening and see what it is. I believe mine is pre-2006, so it may not be helpful if yours is truly a 2007 or later.

Thanks guys! I'm very happy with it. G&L did a really nice job on this one.
Something noteworthy when comparing this neck to the unbound J neck on my L2000 is that it flares out wider toward the body on the SB-2. It's not necessarily a bad thing, just interesting and something I didn't expect.
