Just so I can drum up interest in the Empress bodies, the weights from left to right are: 7.4, 7.4, 8.2, 8.3, 9.4, 8.0, 8.6 lbs. The three on the left are all Empress bodies.
So, Empress is light. What else does it have going for it? Basswood is light, too, yet that wood seems to be kind of shunned for high-end basses....

I was quite surprised at how similarly the L-1005 and the L-2500 balance, no difference in neck dive between them. The L-2000s feel like a normal one, just lighter.
Picked up the LB-100 today, had to adjust the neck again out of the case. Still getting adjusted to the flats I guess. Action rose fairly high & now is perfect. I'm hoping it stays there this time!! I just got the regular neck.

I'll be replacing the series/parallel switch with a series/inner coils/parallel switch, and replacing the tone pot with a push/pull for stock series/OMG mode, tonight.

Having a hard time getting my Allen wrench in at the truss rod. Seems like its up & under the wood there when it should be down into that gap for full access. I dont want to strip the thing especially if I'm adjusting frequently. Think I should look into it?
try finding an allen wrench with the ball type head on it, like the one that comes with fenders.

I've had a few that have looked like this. Does the wrench not feel like it's engaging with the nut?

I have a recent one that is like that too. The truss wrench they include will not fit because of the nut being wedged up against the inside like that. A wrench with a shorter end works fine for me, or like has been suggested, a wrench with a ball-end should work as they are made to be used at an angle.
