I took my L2000 for a spin on this riff. Could you fine people suggest me some less known killer bass lines that I could do similar videos on? Thanks!
Just tried it out. Ebay purchase. Two issues: (1) No output when neck pickup and series mode are selected together. Neck pickup works in parallel mode only. Series mode only works with bridge pickup or with neck+bridge.
(2) Second issue is that with preamp set to active or to active+treble boost, if I use my Xvive U2 wireless transmitter, I get a high pitched whine. It goes away if I use a cable. This never happens with my other basses (both are passive, an American Special P and a Squier VM Jag).
I opened the electronic compartment and couldn't find anything glaringly wrong, other than there was no shielding at all. I also put in a brand new battery, but it did not make a difference.I started the eBay return process and repacked the bass. Big disappointment!
Hoping there will not be any problems with the return process. We will see.

I've never seen a Trib that had a headstock decal like that.

It's likely a defective preamp or messed up the wiring. Here's what that headstock originally looked like before someone sanded it and this one (GC has 3 listed) is probably a better deal: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I've been considering one of those wireless systems. Based on reviews, I think the noise is an issue with some instruments/electronics.
the Xvive has an allergy to MANY active instruments.

This is not 100% G&L content, but it did involve my Kiloton and the MFD humbucker. I recently purchased a TC Sub 'n Up pedal. Eager to try out the various Tone Prints, I followed the "quick start" guide: select a tone print on the phone app, turn up the instrument's volume, turn on the pedal, beam the tone print through the pickup. Didn't work. After trying a few times with a 100% failure rate, I downloaded the full user's manual. One of the details missing from the quick start was "select one pickup". I had the MFD set to series this whole time. Switched it to single coil mode and it worked. So there's that.

Probably a dead coil on the neck PU. Try tapping the adjustable pole pieces with a screwdriver tip (or something made of metal) on neck setting - parallel mode. If one of the coil is dead an entire row of 4 should be silent, and your // mode is actually single coil. I recently ordered 2 brand new MFD humbucker form the shop and one of them had the same problem. G&L was kind enough to send me a new one for free...

The eBay seller bought it from a seller on Craigslist. That's all I know. It's the older Made In Korea headstock logo, with the large "Tribute" part sanded off. Those also have the word "Tribute" on the bridge. The new Indonesian models have a logo with a big "G&L" part and a small "Tribute Series" part.
The seller has agreed to pay return shipping and refund the purchase price, so that's a relief.

You know, G&L is about to put out a new basswood L2000 Tribute, white including the headstock. That might be a cool, lightweight option.
I have been really happy with the Xvive wireless system. I play at my church and I frequently have to walk off stage to listen to the house mix. I have been able to walk out of the back doors (about 100 feet away) into the foyer, then into the sound booth to make adjustments, while still playing as if I am plugged into my amp with a cable! And for a "kill switch" I just turn the transmitter off. No belt pack, no wires, no batteries to change! The USB recharge lasts forever. I have only used it with passive basses, though. I wonder if the high pitched whine I heard in active mode on the L2000 was a result of no shielding? If the Xvive system won't work with active electronics, that would be a bummer.
There are a number of threads that have the same issue with this wireless system and active basses.
It seems to be directly related to the output power and not the electronics; try backing off your volume and see if it fixes the issue.
My question is how long does the internal battery last as it doesn't appear to be replaceable.
I have used a Line 6 G30 wireless with all 6 of my G&Ls, including active L2000s. Done this for years.

They're nice, a bit like the M-2000 Tributes they had out some years ago—minus the black trim. (See below.) I'm very fond of white basses with matching headstock. Those M's were a real snow white, not "Olympic" white per the present L's.
So I figure this is probably the best place to ask (but let me know if I should take it to another thread): who's tried TI Jazz Rounds on their SB-1? Thoughts/opinions/issues?
Currently I believe mine's strung D'Addario XL .045-.105 & the E continues to be kind of unwieldy in girth & they seem a bit stiff across the board for me. I was eyeing the spare set of Labella RX4NB .045-.100 I've got on hand, but then spending some time w/ the short scale TI Jazz Rounds on the Wattplower again made me remember how awesome they work on there. How delicate would I need to be for the long scale set to work out on the SB-1?
