G&L Club Part 7

It's all mine wears, now and forever. They're sublime together.
I have Labella Low tension flexible flats on my jb2 which is a great combo.
I may end up putting the same on my L-1000 when it arrives. (Presuming i want to keep it.)
So far I haven’t liked roundwounds on either of my GL basses.(i replaced factory xls with a light set of chromes on my lb100,which sounded great, but not my favorite strings for feel.)

I have LaBella LTFs on my L-2000. They were on my L-1000 before I had it refretted, but I had the L-1000 set up with Precision Flats, mainly just because I’ve been on a kick of trying different flats. I really did like the LTFs, so I put them on my L-2000 (replacing Chromes).

Anyone here ever put TI flats on an SB2?
I searched, but no results.

I have, also. Good match for sure. I found that the SB-2 is super string friendly, so it's hard to make a bad string choice. And as everyone knows, TI's always sound good no matter what.

Wanna go for an even bigger SB-2 sound? Try a set of 110 ga Roto 77's. Then run it into a BDDI. Yowza.

Hello all! I really want to jump into the G&L world with an L-2500. I played one and was instantly hooked. Unfortunately, the one I played had some issues. I have been scouring the net for one, but just can't seem to find what I am looking for. I'm looking for a glossy neck with rosewood or even ebony. I'd like ash or alder. Any help would be amazing!

Also, I'm confused about nut width. I see 1.75, but then I see some that are a bit larger. I'm trying to understand if G&L changed the nut width at some point, or are people's measurements just off? Thanks everyone!!

Posting to the G&L Club....I'm on the lookout for a MJ-5 with a maple fret board ! PM me! Thanks!

Thanks. I tried a set of 77s on a P and the sound is great, but the tension gets me. At the end of a 4 hour gig, my fingers are really hurting. I have TI's on my P Select and my LB100 and they are great, particularly on the LB100.

Got an L-1000 that i traded an LB-100 for delivered late yesterday. (Talkbass trade!)
The belair green color in person is electrifying. :woot: Especially against the red gigbag interior!
I haven’t had a chance to hook it up to an amp yet, looking forward to hearing it.
Love the feel, and really loving the smaller size body and ultra light weight. (Empress wood).

Nice!

That looks like the rare alnico pickup. I’ve seen a few (not in person). I actually think I remember seeing that particular bass on Craigslist a couple of years back.

I currently have a set of Dunlop flats on the LB-100. They sound great, but I’m really craving a set of TIs
