Has anyone compared the single coil mode on an L1000 to a 50’s style single coil p bass? Can the Wunkays get pretty close to this sound? Maybe less thump from the Wunkay I guess. Does anyone here own both?

It is not...However, who knows...There could easily be a L-2500 750 in my future.
There are a lot of great things about G&L and in general I find Leo's last business the best one of them all.
My personal favorite is the L-Series, there is nothing else like them. If I'm not playing a Nordstrand loaded Lull or something very specific its a G&L.

Hey Bro...I can only image what my stable would look like if G&L made 35" scale basses...
Lucky those the full neck profile basses have some of the B strings for 34" scales out there.

Just to set the record straight
You know I had handful of other people DM me asking me if that was going to be a thing last night.
I did not realize this was going to blow up so much with the "lurker crowd".
Probably not going to happen...Its not on their radar.

I especially enjoyed, in the JB Fullerton Deluxe review, your attempt to explain why you liked the neck so much! It seemed you couldn't quite find the words you wanted, but nonetheless it was perfectly clear what you meantI've got both the LB-100 and JB as loan instruments from G&L Germany

I'm ramping up on my builds (I have a workshop building going up in @ a month) hmmm perhaps 35" conversion neck should be one of my first experiments, add about 48mm and add 3 frets at the heel end of the neck - 24 fret L2500!
Issue is that it would cause a bit of neck dive on lighter bodies. Maybe go hipshot UL tuners..
I'll let @TonyP- answer, but since they had to machine up the bridge , and move the pole pieces in the pickups, My guess is it's an upcoming thing. Custom shop first, then separate series with an upcharge.
19mm L2500 MFD's will be my go-to in builds when they become available.

I’ve had a couple of Tribute 2500s that I never totally bonded with because of the ergonomics. I was just considering a US L-2500 or JB5 to try and give myself more incentive to play a 5 string, still knowing that the string spacing would be a compromise. This is exciting to think that it won’t have to be...
Thanks! Pics of it actually change the color. I had to modify the hue on the pic to get it to match what i was seeing in person. And for a 5 year old bass,it’s in amazingly clean condition. I could barely find any kind of scratch on it, frets are excellent.
Taking it to a guitar tech guru in a few weeks to have new strings and setup done.
I have a Belair green LB-100. It is notoriously tricky to get to photograph well. I’ve seen it come out anywhere from lime green to a dull aqua blue. So you did a good job representing the color.

it’s a great bass! That’s why I ordered the Matador with a 1.5” neck profile

Between the SB-2 video for the MFD pickup and body shape, the LB-100 video for the tonal variation with just one pickup, and the video JB for the neck, I put together the review I needed

From my understanding the 750 or 19mm will be a sku item and available for customs.
