NBD. Got a really nice 2000 American G&L L-2000 and this one has the wider, 1.75" nut and the maple neck. Matches my 1999 American G&L SB-2T nicely (that has the more common, skinnier neck width). I think the SB-2 might have to go, however, as much as it pains me. Haven't decided yet, but don't really need another P or P-J bass and the L-2000 has so many tonal options and plays great.

I have the same neck on my L2000. How do you like it?
BTW, I also have an SB-2. If you have another bass that mimics it, MAYBE sell it. But to me, they are two very complimentary basses. At a jazz bass of some sort, and those three cover a wide, wide range of sounds (although the k-mod on an L2K does a jazzish bass sound).

I love the wider neck so far. All of my other basses are the thinner, jazz style necks, just like the SB-2 and initially I think my hands and fingers are responding better to this wider neck. Plays great.!

Quick Guards. This is what they have in stock...a black pearl one, too, but I prefer mine which you might see on some Japanese L2000s.

cant thank you enough for the site,ive been wanting a pickgaurd for my L2500 just have to find a good color choice for tobacco sunburst..im leaning to gloss black or that midnight blue sparkle you posted the pic of..cheers.

I think that Midnight Sky one would look great on the right L2500...just enough sparkle to make it special. Not exactly cheap, but my pickguard was $15 more and it was definitely money well spent.
He has some interesting colors there.

yeah thats the thing with picking a gaurd its got to be the right color or it just jumps out as ugly no matter how nice the bass is,,gloss black seems to be the best visual bet for me but that midnight sky is worth a gamble,or just go hair straight back and order both colors...cheers!
Not a huge difference that I can tell thus far. The SB-2T is lighter, which is the only noticeable difference. But otherwise, the different body shapes don't feel substantially different while standing up.

I'm ramping up on my builds (I have a workshop building going up in @ a month) hmmm perhaps 35" conversion neck should be one of my first experiments, add about 48mm and add 3 frets at the heel end of the neck - 24 fret L2500!
Issue is that it would cause a bit of neck dive on lighter bodies. Maybe go hipshot UL tuners..
