i think there is a couple forums I've found about this configuration on here , custom shop will still make these and they are awesome,, it was exactly the sound i was looking for PHATT P

I don't have an L2K (SB-2 and Kiloton) but I use a Gator Pro-Go and it's really nice. The pockets, padding and straps are all top notch. They only downside is that it is HEAVY even without an ax in it. But I guess that's part of the price of protection. I may actually pick up the dual bag as I almost always take two basses with me to jobs/gigs.

SB-2 but with both pickups wired to 1 master volume and the other volume will become a tone pot.

G&L makes a nice one check website , store, they come with American standard deluxe
Have you tweaked the pickup heights to get the balance between the two exactly how you want it?
I recently bought a used BB424, so another PJ with a big tone. It has a master volume and a toggle switch. I immediately recognised that the two pickups together sounded better than either pickup alone, but it was only after a while, when I noticed that one pickup is much higher than the other, that I realised that the heights had been chosen to fine-tune the tone of the two pickups combined. When going from neck to bridge, or vice versa, the volume sounds out of balance, but blended together they sound fantastic. So the toggle lives on the middle position and I could happily live without it.
There are all kinds of gig bags that span a really wide price range, so your budget would help limit the suggestions.
That being said, I've had my L-2500 in:
- Access Stage 5 - My favorite bag. It's really pricey but it's outstanding
- Reunion Blues Continental Voyager - A close second to the Access - and less expensive
- Mono M80 - Very nice
- Protec Contego - A pretty nice bag on its own, and much less expensive than the others I mentioned
- Gator Pro-Go 2 double bag - I mostly use it for gigs since that's about the only time I take two basses. It's got a lot of really thick padding all around it, especially at the bottom and around the strap pin, but it's pretty heavy for a bag.
Mono M-80 my favorite.
Close second is the Sadowsky Portabag (but those be spendy)
Protec Contego îs a good third.
Fourth I would include: Reunion Blues Aero or Continental, Gruvgear Gigblade Silver, or Gator Pro-Go.

I’m talking with those guys now about different stuff.
I Almost never play with 1 pickups on.
Some basses it does not happen at all (like my TP5).
I’m playing some more traditional material with a couple of guys from Chaka Kahn’s old touring band and that is why I was thinking of a SB-2, something I can put more traditional strings on for néw school gospel (this is very new to me)
Or who knows, maybe a roasted L-2500 with vintage fret wire (to get less of that metal sound from large frets).
You get great vintage type tone (but with a small touch of growl) using a L series in passive and in series.
I will never go full on vintage just something a little closer then the snarly spank machines of a ebony laden Lull.

I’m pretty much getting to the point if it is not a Lull then I’m playing a G&L.
I have vints on my black Wunkay.
I love the feel and tone it gets me.
Any bass I custom/special order from here on out will have them.

All my Lulls have them and it’s really a different animal...I love them.
So, I traded with a fellow Talkbasser for a very cool SB-2T that I really like except for the gloss clear finish on the neck. Sticky finger syndrome! I LOVE my Kiloton which has the satin finish and would like to get the SB similarly feeling.
I've watched lots of YouTube vids about doing it and I'm not afraid to take paper/steel wool to neck but would love to hear the thoughts of any of you who have done likewise. Best method? Results? My only concern is the line between the headstock and the neck. Did you just tape it off and let it be? Or is there some other technique to blend the different finishes?

Get rid of the sticky feel by deglossing with a melamine sponge ( Mr Clean Magic Eraser) it'll feel like a powdered pool cue.
