Got the pearloid pick guard from Chandler for the US G&L 98 1st Gen LB100,holes matched up perfect fit. Pot holes,and jack holes had to be reamed out,for them to fit though.
Thank you TomB for helping a fellow bass player! By the way, there is an untapped (small) business opportunity right here. While there are quite a few commercial mail forwarders, I haven't seen one that can routinely do basic checks and promptly return the instrument while still in the US if anything is wrong with it—something that can't easily be done from overseas. A service like this could be a big money saver for intl buyers.

Took me 3 tries to get everything to fit. Still need to secure the pickups to the cavity. Looks like it will be a different set of holes.

I prefer the all maple look, too, on a headstock. Post your impressions of the EMG pickup. I assume it's active? The last time I had an EMG active on a P-bass was over 40 years ago. I remember liking it then, but tastes change over the years. I have a Tribute LB-100 that I'm thinking of converting to an active EMG, but I bought it for that P-bass sound, so I'm undecided.
I went with a fresh set of GHS Boomers that I had laying around. I am going to leave the bass alone for a bit to let the neck adjust to having string tension on it again.
I plugged the bass into my Genzler (350)+ Fender rumble (210 cab) amp and it sounded great. I look forward to playing it more.

So I'm wondering something. The packaging of the pickups said white, but against the pure white of the pickguard, they look off white. I'm wondering if I received ivory by mistake or if it just isn't a pure white.
In the photo you posted of the entire length of the bass, it looks pure white, but it wouldn't hurt to send a message to customer service at EMG (or whomever you bought the pickup from) and attach the photo. See what they say. It looks good whatever you decide to do. Truly beautiful. Very impressive!
I've had this 2014 USA L-2500 in greenburst for five months now. It's the first G&L I've had or played. Kinda bought it on a whim but instantly loved the sound. This one has the k-switch and I almost always have it toward the bridge (I think this is parallel, with single-coil being in the middle). Nice growly tone, stingray-ish maybe? Feels and plays really solid and every note is heard clearly. Must be something special about those pickups. This bass seems meant for the low B, however I tend to play 5 strings with a high C and this bass doesn't seem as well suited for that. I am still trying to find the right balance of pickup height and action though. I find the strings making contact with the pole pieces a bit too easily. But this has quickly become my number one.
Don't be afraid to lower your pickups more than on an usual bass, since you have a lot of output level in reserve with the MFD's. Then you can raise the individual pole pieces to favour a string or a zone where you want the PUs to pick more signal from the strings.
