Without concrete confirmation from EMG that's just conjecture. BTW it's not unlike EMG to reuse pickup designs in different form factors.No!
Do you really think EMG just drilled holes for the pole pieces in the cover of one of their existing pickups and then asked Geezer if it would be ok with if they slapped his name on them so they could charge a couple of bucks more for them, and he was like: "Sure, I don't see why not, it's not like I really care about my tone anyway or how my name is used, please go ahead, sounds like a great idea to me".
