Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 Appreciation Thread

I'll admit that we spend a lot of time at halls/venues where bands do line checks and such. We do our best to build pro gear.

I also recognize that our gear isn't for everyone for every application. I wish we could accomplish that...but, we can't.

So, with that being said, I have no problem in giving you a refund. I'll take the hit. In other words, I'll refund to you what you paid the dealer if you aren't happy with your amp or, if we can't make you happy. I'll even refund the money before we receive the amp.

In the end, we don't have control over how you'll like our product but, we can affect how we'll stand behind it.

Please PM me as to how you'd like to resolve this.

I appreciate the offer and knowing your reputation for service I'm not surprised by it, however, it's not really a deal breaker, just an annoyance at times. I actually really like the amp otherwise.

I'm happy to reach out and I'm glad you like your amp in general.

Please know we'll stand behind it and don't hesitate to reach out to me pesonally if you need support.

Kindest Regards and thanks for your business,
Roger

That's incredible!
I'm truly in shock at how amazing the Genz Benz people are and how they stand by their product. AgedHorse and Hasbeen are just great on this forum and now this?!
Makes me even prouder to be an owner of Shuttle 6.0!
Viva la Genz Benz!

Looking for the Funk Box app, I also found theres a Korg Electribe app. Woot!!! 20 bucks though...

okay back to The Shuttle 9 and the Intestinal Fortitude this amp helps with one to achieve ( I before E except after C right? ):hmm:

Try typing "funk" in to the app search, it is made by synthetic bits and cost around $3. Has samples from 6 different famed drum machines from the 70s, has tap pads, mixer, 8 parameters/sounds per bank from each classic drum machine, a 4step sequencer, accent, random levels, SWING and other standard, savable memory and unfamiliar to me parameters. It's this one: . Sounds better through a 9.0 and a 12 cab:bassist:.

My favorite samples are from the TR-808, sound is really good by the my ears, part of that could be Genz Benz magic.

Lots of fun to plug into the AUX in and rock out.

Used the Shuttle 9.0 last night for 2 shows. I am in a pit band for the "Rocky Horror Show" locally with 2 keys, guitar, bass & drums. It is in an old 350 seat theatre and the sound is kinda boomy. The sound was fabulous paired with an SWR Goliath III 4x10. Not quite 1 trip in & out, but I'm getting there. Two more shows tonite! Can't wait.

I am still notbsure about this amp. In comparingbit to my markbas lmII ans lmIII it has some quirks. The volume seems to be unsteady during a gig. I play fender american passibe j and p basses so it is not the bass. Last ight from one songvto the next the volume would drop off a dramatic amount. Enough that band members would say something. The amp felt cool to touch and no weird lights or anythingbto make menthing utvwas overheating, i would turn the volume up 2 clicks each time and it woukd be ok for a while. Very strange. I have the gain and pre amp volume at 12 to 2 aclock and the master ended up around 3 oclock. Considering it was through an 4 ohm load i was surprised it was setbthat high. With my 500 watt markbas heads i have never been over 12 oclock and it seemed tonhave more headroom at that.

Maybe it needs a tube??

So I got to hear the Shuttle 9 with 2 Bag End Q-10BX-D's today and tonight that setup is going to be playing disco and house music..not be me, but thats cool.

This amp just pushes so much air with those bag ends, even with one ( 8 ohms ) that little amp is way more than loud enough.

I know its hard to resist but you can't compare GB to MB at the volume knob, it's maeningless. For example. The F1 at 12:00 is the same volume as 4:00 IME.

Volume drop off: Were you changing the the EQ or boost/cut switches? The bass boost and mid cut switches have a large effect on the volume.

Overall Volume: Your pre amp is not hot enough if your 9.0 can't get painfully loud at 4ohms. Your running your pre colder than I run mine with a hot bass signal going in. For clean funk with tasty GB flavor I set both pre knobs around 2:00. Though there are many tasty flavors to this pre so look for some louder ones.

Edit: If that doesn't solve your issue you bought an amp supported by the best support in the biz. Take advantage of it, when you call or email Genz you get to talk to the owner, engineers,... I wish the was a PC or Smart phone company like that!

Anyone else having difficulty in getting their 'free' carry bag for their Shuttle 9.0? I'm told that these are in short supply and on back order.

I hope the come in soon because a cardboard box is just a pain in the a way of carry in the head!
