Is this considered full volume for this amp? Beyond this point on the gain knob I start getting a clip light on the input o/l not to mention more unwanted distortion.I had the gain at 2 o'clock, volume dimed and master volume dimed

Don't get me wrong, I think the Shuttle 9.0 sounds great and is loud for a four pound amp; I just assumed it would be a little louder than it is and louder than my old TE AH350SMX. At this point I'm just trying to decide what cab combination to move to in order to get the most out of the amp.
Is that a 4ohm cab? Maybe I need quit playing with the 2x10s and go get a light 4ohm 4x10 and see what happens. Not sure what the deal is here. My Shuttle 9.0 like to have blown the drivers clean out of my 800 watt 4x10 cab first time I turned it on.![]()

I'm wondering if a single 4ohm 4x10 would put out more volume that a pair of 8ohm 2x10s? I'm not really a stacker by the way, I like all the cabs coupled to the ground. Also, I am assuming that the Shuttle 9.0 could not handle running a single 8ohm 2x10 AND a 40hm 4x10 cab at the same. Guessing that's an either/or proposition.
Depends. In theory, there should be no difference within manufacturer. However, many manufacturers don't spec their 210's to be 'half the 410' model. For example, 2 x 8ohm Epifani 210UL's sounds bigger and deeper than a 4ohm 410UL, while two 8ohm Goliath Jr's don't have quite the wump of the Goliath III 4ohm (IME). The Bergantino AE210 x 2 seems pretty close in volume and tone to the AE410, etc., etc.
All in all though, you will be within 80% of the performance either way IMO and IME.
The real question is if you want a modular system or one big cab. I was never a fan of modular rigs, since it requires you to hall two cabs for larger gigs (I prefer a single 410 with castors). So, I have a 'small gig cab' and a 'large gig cab'. Others like the modularity of two identical cabs (like 210's).
I think the bigger consideration with this could be in transportation and handling requirements. Some vehicles may require 2 separate smaller cabinets and not be able to accommodate a larger cabinet. I have to agree with Ken, for me it's easier to roll in a UL410 or UL610. IMHO.

Have you tried a different bass? With the gain at 2:00, the vol dimed and the master dimed the room should have imploded. Something's not right.
I've been experiencing a very similar issue.
When I first got my 9.0, it was smokin loud but lately I've
been able to put the amp about up to its limit with a number
of different boxes without worrying much. When I first got the
amp I would have shredded the speakers, now, not so much.
To experiment, I used my Sansamp Paradriver as my preamp
going into the effects return, essentially bypassing the preamp
in the 9.0. Whoa!! TONS OF VOLUME AND HEADROOM! This
was with my Para di flat and volume at 10:-11:00, and the
9.0 master at 12:00.
I spoke to Genz Benz about the issue. The thought is that
perhaps there is an issue with the 12ax7 tube. Its still
functioning but is somehow degraded. I'm going to see if I can
find an old tube to switch it out with whats in there now.
Genz Benz also has offered to send me another tube, if that
in fact is the issue.
